car starter for 2014 cx 5 gs

I was wondering if anyone else is having any problem with their factory alarm being set off when the unlock button is used on their remote starter. For my situation, it seems the only way to disarm the factory alarm is through the unlock button on the factory fob, unless the car is started with the starter remote. In which case, I would have to use the starter remote to unlock the door. The techs at the shop said my car was the first one they can't around the factory alarm with. Has anyone been able to fix this issue?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Where did you get it installed?
I'm looking to get a car starter installed as well. The dealer quoted $700 but their range is only 300Meters (1000 Feet). From my work place to where I park it's just over 400 Meters, it wont be enough.
When I went to Visions they said I will lose my spare key as they have to put it in the car. Then I have to use the Car Starter fob to unlock the doors. The buttons on the door will work but will set of the alarm unless I unlock with the car starter Fob.
I should have asked if I can just get the Car Starter Fob to only start the car, not to handle the alarm or doors.....

The starter was contracted out from the dealership. Seems like we are in the same boat in terms of when the alarm goes off. I wish the dealership had told me this before hand -_- By the way, does your aux key set off the alarm?

I have the same problem. Had a secondary place install my command start and they couldn't fully get around it. Had my CX-5 in for service at Mazda this past weekend and asked them about it. According to the dealer there is not a workaround as of yet.

We have same problem with 2014 CX5 GT. It was in the shop to install an aftermarket car starter, but they gave-up after 3 days of trying including phone calls to both local Mazda and Mazda Canada. Mazda Canada said to remove it and go back to the dealership. What about the question from above - does the auxiliary key set off the alarm? Ours does set-off the alarm. This does not seem right to me.

My aux key also sets off the alarm. It seems silly that it would. I think I remember someone saying that it is their security measure? I guess so that you can't just get a key cut to get into the car, but even if that did happen you can't go anywhere without the fob right?

I have the same problem with my remote starter. It's exactly as you have described. I purchased my CX5 last August and have had this problem since day one. I went to my dealer and explained my problem, but it would only do it intermittently, and he said it would have to do it all the time to be able to find the problem. He also said that the horn sound is not the same as the alarm should be. It's very frustrating. Would be very interested if someone did have the same problem and it was fixed.

I was just at a Mazda dealer today looking to buy. I asked about the remote start and the fob and whether I can install myself or they needed to do it. He said the remote starter "adds" a module to the factory fob. I asked him to explain and he couldn't (typical sales guy skipping the details). Problem is, I am unsure exactly what you guys are saying and remote start is pretty high on my list. Can you guys explain a little better what's going on here? I believe you guys are saying when you get a CX5 you get a key fob and a regular key? and if you start the car remotely, then try to open the door with a regular non FOB key, the alarm will start? Why can't you just use the normal key fob?

I got a Compustar 9000 installed. I had to give up a key fob.
Range is 1.6Km or 1Mile. I park about 500 meters away and it works.
It cost me $700 with install and taxes.

I haven't had any problems like mentioned earlier in the thread. The only small problem is when I start the car with the car starter my lights turn on when I press the brake.
