MSRP is $30,995 which should make the actual retail price $32,495 after you add the freight, PDI, a/c tax etc.

Thanks for this info Mazda3. A bit steeper than I anticipated, but I'll just hope that the residual will be favourable and that I can get a good price for my MSP. With the lower difference between the CAN and the USD I would have thought that it would be about $2K less than this. Canadian ****-age.

Woah! That is about $3000 more than it should be. I hope this is not official.

Why? What car touches this car at that price?
And yes, this is official.

Makes my Mustang Gt at about $35K everything included look like a bargain......... I'm officially happy with my decision not to wait for this car.

No offense Dutch, because I happen to really like the new Mustangs as well, but there is WAY more value in the MS3 at that price.

Ouch. I am strongly considering the Speed 3 Sport edition, I don't like leather seats, right now this is what I received from a local dealer;
Vehicle Criteria (Mazdaspeed Sport model...)
Model Year:2007 Emission:Federal Car Line:M-SPEED3 Model:MS3 SSP P - MAZDASPEED3 - 6M

Option Group: BASELINE
Port Installed Accessories: WLK - WHEEL LOCKS
VIN No. : JM1BK34L670627038 ? Ship date: 01-01-0001
MSRP: $22,875.00 ?
Color (Exterior/Interior): COSMIC BLUE /MS3 BLACK

Your cost if you put your name on one of my incoming vehicles is $22,595. Will this work for you? Let me know so that we can arrange a time to meet. I will need a deposit to lock down this transaction. It is normally $1,000 dollars that goes towards your new car purchase when the car arrives. With you and I being in contact as much as we have, I can accept $500 dollars in your case. Please let me know if you are to the ordering point. Thank you.
That would equate to about just under $2600 CAD. Price difference between GT and Sport is only $2000. So... WTF is up with CAD pricing??

I'm not sure how taxes work here to import cars for dealers... but a buddy of mine did the maths to import a STI from the US to canada... overall you save about 4k $ cnd if you import it instead of buying it from a local dealer in Canada! THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!!(pissed)

Canadian pricing has no direct relation to US pricing in anyway, never has. The car is priced according to the Canadian market place. You have to compare the price to other cars in the Canadian market the US price is irrellevant. At $31k this car is the best value of its type in Canada, the US price is of no concern to Mazda Canada.

Saved $4k on a $48k CDN car and now will have a huge hassle from Canadian dealers if any warranty work is required. Not really worth the trouble IMO.

Tell me where this supposed added value is. I can't wait to see them on the road now so I can destroy them every chance I get.

The only way you will destroy one is if you mod your car. Stock vs. stock it will be a drivers race. The stang will have the launch advantage, but the MS3 will probably inch away from the stang from a roll. The ride and driving dymamics will be superior in the MS3 in every way, as will the brakes.

The value is the entire car. Superior design, fit-n-finish, Japanese built. Not sure about the US, but in Canada the M3 has the number one resale value of any car. The Mustang is already being flogged at family pricing and used 05 GT's will be had for $20k CDN by next spring.

I have a feeling they will stay on the lot for a bit longer than what Mazda is expecting...

There's only 250 coming into Canada and 90% are already spoken for.

It doesn't worth the saving if warranty is not transfarable. But I definitely will get it from US if I live close enough to the border.

the mp3 was like 23.5k
the msp was like 27.5k
i think the ms3 at 31-32 isn't that bad. Too bad its a hatch....
Whats next. a 400 hp Mazda 5? haha.
