Hello,
I've looked through this forum for an answer but I can not find it. Were I live in Canada the highest octane for "normal gas" that I can find is 91. We do have a Mohawk station (owned by Husky) with 92 octane but it's Ethanol. Husky said the blend is less that 10% ethanol. The owners manual says you can run 10% or less ethanol gas.
I thought I read somewhere that said not to run ethanol gas in a turbo? Would the 92 ethanol give me better performance than the 91 pure gas?
Also, a friend said he has a supplier of TETRAETHYL LEAD (TEL) and told me to add this to the 91 normal gas as a better solution to boost up my octane. Can I just add Tetraethyl Lead to my regular gas to make 93 or 94 octane or will this octane booster screw up my engine?
Any suggestion to the above question would be appreciated.
Thanks,
AB.
