Can someone tell me why??

Ads are a big problem with Mazda least what I've seen. Think I have only seen 1 P5, perhaps 1 MazdaSpeed but only recently.

I never heard of the P5 till I was at the dealer when my dad got his Miata. Then heard about the MazdaSpeed once I started looking into the P5.

But if I hadn't walked to the dealer I would have never known about the P5/Speed/MP3 series.

:(

Well the P5 is incredibly popular here. The other day I saw one in a parking lot, then I drove by one...then another...I saw 5 in under 10 minutes. I see them all over the bloody place.

I also saw about 20 Spicey Orange MSPs...but they were at the docks here. :) Not sure why so many are still sitting there though.

But I agree about the advertising. I know someone who recently bought a P5 and new all about it before hand from talking to other people, but she had no idea what the MSP was. Oh well.

John: You can sell the Mazdaspeed. Put "TURBO" and "DISCOUNTED" on the windshield and wait for a sunny weekend. Get the Sport Compact Car article from last fall where they talk about the Mazdaspeed knocking the Acura Integra Type R off the top of the mountain; make LOTS of copies of this article. Train a key salesman to really read up on the car so he can keep up with a sharp customer and really inform him about the car. Discount the first one to that key customer who's going to go out and sell his buddies on the car. (Try to find someone in the SCCA who autocrosses in your area. Maybe take one to an autox and offer free rides? This car is one H*LL of an autocross car!)

Once you have sold the first one to a real enthusiast, word of mouth will spread and you'll be able to sell the others at MSRP.

It's going to be harder because Mazda corporate has moved on to the 6 and the RX-8. But it can be done. You just have to tap into the enthusiast community. This board is a good start. Nice to see you here.

Yea I think I'll try ur approch....I don't think the powers that be will let me but Discounted on it but I could definatley put turbo and so on on it.....I have plenty of the articles from Sport compact car and other stuff on it....a main thing is also that a lot of the people that look at it really like it but when I tell them its stick, they can't handle it. If I didn't have a Maxima I would buy one for myself....Best bang for the buck I think.

The thing that will really hurt the Speed in my opinion (well at least in my dealership especially) is that we also sell Dodge's and with the Srt-4 hitting anyday now all the youngsters are going to want it cause its faster, but my thinking is its still a Neon....doesn;'t even have power windows in the back for christ sake. lol

you need to start putting some aggressive sales tactics together like
20,000$ trade in push , pull or tow your trade in!
just kidding

they need to put it in every paper they can get their hands on EVERY DAY like around here.
get these people educated on these cars
mazda is reling on word of mouth from us!

I think they did fair on the advertising in Canada, I always see the MSP ads in magazines...and the M6 is TV, newspapers...
The only problem in Canada is that we don't get MSP....we were waiting for so long ,and there is only few which actually came last months....and many the buyers who ordered are still waiting.
I haven't seen any MSP on the roads yet....I know they're out, but I dun see them on the road personally....
