the invoice is 13.3 so 14k is doable. i would not pay more then that for a base.
check carsdirect.com and the price that they have should be about the price you pay.

If you want a 3s hatchback you will not get it for 14. Honestly the best you can hope for is about 15,800 and that's if you threaten to walk out of the dealership a few times. The sticker price at the dealership for the 3s hatch is 17,400. I got mine at the dealership for 15,900 with much debate. Trust me, the dealer wants to sell you the car, but they will not loose money to sell it to you. They pay more than 14 for a 3s. (rlaugh)

Yeah invoice for a 3i is around $13,000, so $14000 for one of those with no options is doable.

But the 3s...good luck getting anything below 16K.

I got mine for essentially exact invoice.. 19,700. I also got mine fully loaded (no nav but everything else). I also had a deal through my company that gave me s-plan pricing, however.. so I really don't count.

only if u pay in full amount in cash... otherwise they wont bring down a penny

Actually they're more likely to come down if you are financing...the dealers can make money when someone finances.

I've bought two cars in cash...you should see the finance manager's face when you tell them you are paying in cash. They practically cry.

I want to pay for a car in singles one day.. so I can walk in with a briefcase full of money, slap it down on the salesman's desk, and say "THIS ENOUGH?!"

(lol) yes ive seen that too and u know why they cry?? coz by financing they charge interest, no interest no profit.. the longer they charge interest the richer they get..(yes)

Exactly...if you have cash, it is best not to mention it until after you settle on a price (and start signing papers). So many dealers want to talk in monthly payment figures, and that is where they confuse (and abuse) the hell out of you.

Wish I could still pay in cash, but that flew out the window when I got married and bought a house. Oh well...

10% off sticker is usally a very good deal. 16 to 14 may be a little too much to hope for, but dealers get bonus money if they meet their monthly goals. Go in the last day of the month an you might get lucky. Taking a loss on a couple of cars is better than missing their numbers.

u want the lowest price heres what u do. find all the dealers in the area with the car u want, then go from dealer to dealer get the price in writing, then take it to the next dealer, show them the slip and tell them to beat it. i did this starting at 5 dealerships and worked my way down to two. every dealership i went to said this was as low as they could go. and then i'd hand them the sheet saying the other dealer was lower, and all the sudden they were able to drop 500$ off the price. i went to one dealer and he told me flat out i was a liar and that no one could sell it for the price i shown. so that nocked them off the list. some dealers will take next to no profit to gain your business.

oh and when i did buy the car i went back to the dealership where the guy called me a liar. i showed him the car and the paperwork and then told his manager what an ass he was calling me a liar lol.
