Just a quick question...

Can I install and use the same rotors for front and rear?

I have 4 wheel disc brakes. 5 lug nuts on each tire.
I have a parts catalog that lists 2 different parts for front and rear rotors on 4 wheel disk variants like my car, however Rockauto.com is confusing me a bit when it says something like this:

PRONTO Part # BR31052
MPS Suspension; Vented; Front; Rear Disc brakes; ES Model

can I just buy 4 of this one part and away I go??

Thanks

No, the front has vented rotors and the rear does not.

That particular listing is confusing because it says MPS and ES, which are not the same and should have different sized rotors.

MPS Suspension = usually Mazdaspeed Protege, which has bigger brakes
Front = they are for the front
Rear disc brakes (and 4 wheel discs) = for a model with 4 wheel discs (drum brake models have smaller front rotors)
ES model = for an ES

On another note, rockauto is great but they charge a lot for shipping rotors. Amazon sells the Centric rotors and has free shipping on orders over $25 so they end up being cheaper. If you need pads too ProParts has a kit with rotors and pads.

Thanks for the clarification everyone.
I recently signed up for Amazon prime (accidentally :-S), so I'll head over there and check out the selection.

Thanks!

Got everything I needed for $7 cheaper than rockauto.com on Amazon!

Picked up:

1x Power Stop 16-798 Front Pads kit (4 pads)
2x Centric Front Rotor 120.45048 (Coated)
2x Centric Rear Rotor 121.45049 (standard)

$130.53 total.

For exactly the same items rockauto was $137.31 after shipping.

Thanks for the tip!
