camshaft

I've heard that the focus camshafts for the 04-05 mazda 2.0l could possibly work being as the i model didn't come with valve timing in those years. they have yet to be tested as far as i know. i've been doing much research, and plan on seeing about custom made camshafts once i've gained the funding for the microtech and the camshafts. you can try calling marcy motorsports, every time i call i get a machine and no return call. also check with cosworth, they deal with the duratec block as well.

A Mazda3 mate told me that the cosworth focus cam could fit but it didnt work....so hope some brand will develop cams for 3 and 6....

You could always have cams custom cut. There is a shop around where I live that gave me a quote on a set of mild street cams, they came to about 600. It sounds like a decent price to me.

Yes customs can be had. Problem being you have to give them your specs. Cams will be one of the very first things that get added before the big turbo.

Could I directly buy cams from them instead of core exchange? Cos' I wanna keep original cams...

And...Can the mild street cams keep variable timing fuction?

All they do for custom cams is take the spec of the old ones and cut news ones using your old specs. you would be able to keep the old cams. I'm not sure. I don't have VVTi or what not. I have a 04 2.0l and that was what my shop told me. You might want to call a shop and ask.
