Camshaft noise

Ok, so I don't have an incredibly amazing truck... It's just a 98 Mazda B-2500, I just bought it a couple months ago, but now the camshaft is knocking around and making an awful noise. Any one have any suggustions besides a new truck? (or engine)

It depends on the extent of the problem. There could be an oiling problem that was the initial cause. Worst case scenario is you have to replace the cylinder head since it might have gouged the cam journals. WOn't know for sure till it's torn down and see what's wrong.

u sure it's the cam? take the valve cover off and have a peak

Can you be more specific to the sound?

It's probably a lifter issue of some sort, not cams.
