CAI.... Will it void Warranty?

Hey guys... I have a stupid question. Will a Cold Air Intake void my warranty on the car ? By the way, the car is leased so if I decide to give it up at the end of the lease is it easy to replace it again with the stock parts?

Yes. Personally, I wouldn't make any modifications to a leased car, unless I intended to purchase the car.

I think the answer isn't a simple yes or no. The CAI won't necessarily void your warranty. Let's say your master cylinder goes bad. Since the function of this part is not directly effected by the CAI, your dealer should repair under warranty. If on the other hand your mass airflow sensor takes a dump, your dealer might not replace under warranty since this part is effected by the CAI.

And yes, it is easy to install and remove.

One of these days I am going to write the name of this thing down....but....in the United States there is a LAW.....and it covers ALL states....and it deals directly with this subject...

IF you install an aftermarket part on your car is will NOT, I repeat will NOT void your warrantee.....the only time a dealer can refuse you warrantee work based on any modification you performed is if THAT SPECIFIC modification caused the failure you are trying to have repaired under warrantee....

like what BK's described.....

but on other hand....if I were leasing a car...and putting mods on it....I think I would make sure I kept all the stock parts so I could put them back on when I turned in the car so my money wasn't getting thrown away.

BTW I think the name of that law is the "magnusons law" or something like that....its close anyway....its not BS or just a rumor.

NOW, don't think that just because there is a law out there protecting you that the dealer might not give you greif....cause some of them will.
