CAI vs. SRI articles

how bout posting the information from there rather than linking? and hopefully the car they tested was turbo

article is too long to copy and paste and there are diagrams too

doesnt appear at first glance to be FI related tho

Then it belongs in the Performance section & not in here. I maintain my claim that SRI > CAI for FI.

i dunno if thats true or not, but i do know that i prefer SRI

im assuming that will only be confirmed after reading this article because why would they bother with the article otherwise if it was going to show that CAI is better than SRI.

yes, the articles are for NA cars, but they are great articles based on facts and not myths. People please educate yourself!!
On one of the articles a member, "neuser", tested the underhood temperature while the car was moving using an electronic thermometer with a remote head. Can anyone guess the findings? I don't think the same would apply to our cars because our cars get VERY hot under the hood.

be nice if i had enough "permission" to access either page

It only takes 5 minutes to register!!
That's a GREAT site!! You won't see people bashing other cars or "can my car beat a Ferrari" type of threads. Maybe moderators here could take a few pointers.

I wonder how many of the 176 people that viewed this thread actually bothered to read the articles? Probably less than 10. I can bet that in just a couple of days there will be another thread asking which intake is better?

People keep asking which is better for 2 reasons:

*They don't know anything & they haven't bothered to look up old threads & research it for themselves
*There is no definitive answer...no one intake is good for every car.

sri is better on high revin n/a as well....check out spoon or mugens site :)

true, but there is a lot of other information like how important is the diameter and the length of the pipe. That applies to any engine!!
Why is a SRI better for high revving engines? Because of the amount of air that the engine demands when revving to 9k rpm.
A turbo engine also demands a lot of air because of the turbo, specially at high boost levels at LOW rpm's. A turbo engine does not need to rev to 8.5k rpm's like a Honda Type R to demand lots of air. So which intake is better for a turbo engine boosting 10 psi? There you have it!!

People, also read they other articles they have. There are exhaust and turbo articles. I have learned a lot from that site when I had my 99 teg.

Yes, SRI is the most free flowing & therefore best for a turbo car.

P.S. Mugen knew how to tune cars, but apparently they never learned how to pay taxes.
