CAI or Short ram air intake?

I want to get an Injen CAI system but I can only find the models that will fit the 2002...will this work on my 2003 protege sedan...I have found AEM short ram intake which will fit my car but will it produce as much hp?

i dont see why the CAI wouldnt fit, dont get the short ram, it doesnt work as good when the engine compartment heats up

I LOVE my Injen CAI. Pulls alot harder in the mid to high. Also i was at the Super Chevy show down here in Memphis. I walked into the K&N tent and they know have a cool air kit for the MP3 & P5

Yeah, I can attest to that too. When idling you can hear the hiss coming from the bumper area where the filter sits. With full throttle the thing just growls  it's nuts!!

Flex, are you still using the Injen filter or did you get a K&N? I don't know how much difference that should make, I'll wait for now.

Dude, I'm very curious about the K&N's CAI try, on to search...

Yeah, it should fit, I really don't think they touched the engine at all from those 2 years.

-It was very satisfying to remove the stock intake, man, what a mess.

-yeah, mid and high rpms are much better. I can feel it while in 5th gear on the highway. I don't feel like I should be downshifting to 4th every time I need to pull a little.

I just installed the Injen just last week so i'm still using the Injen air filter. I raced my friend yesterday that has an Integra with a stock B18A and beat him by a half a car length were as before he would always win. It's amazing how much difference it made. i asked how it sounded he said it sounded (sick) awsome.

Sweet:D
I just put mine in this weekend too, I figure I'll keep the Injen until I have to replace it.

The K&N CAI is the Typhoon, I remember seeing it in another thread, here is a pic:

It looks nice but the Injen looks just as nice, only costs $195 (polished) while the typhoon is a meaty $400!!!

www.adventon.com

The polished one is $195, the colored ones (red, blue) are $202.
It was $211 total shipped from CA to CT.

These are the prices for 2.0L.

CAI hydro-lock

I've read that CAI is much better, but I live in Montreal, Canada and we get a lot of rain during spring and fall, not to mention our winters.

Is a CAI recommendable in wet areas? If so, does the AEM Bypass Valve fit the Injen CAI?

Thanks
Haig:)

I dont think it is safe to run CAI in wet areas, because u dont want to soak it up, but mabey someone else can help u

I live in Houston, TX. If you go outside and piss, the neighborhood will flood.:D I have had the Injen CAI in for almost a year in my 02 P5 and no problems. I have driven through puddles and huge thunderstorms with no problem. As long as the filter is not submerged in water, you will be OK!

As for the bypass valve. Don't do it!! It will cancel out allof the gains from the CAI. Not worth it if you ask me.

actually, i think the first link was measured at the wheels while in the second it was at the engine, o wait, the seconds dyno'd, actually, i dont know but thats what i think... dont quote me cuz i dunno what the dyno actually measures...

I have the AEM SRI for my 5-speed..i love it! the 5-speed version tucks down into the motor while the auto version just runs for a few inches to the front of the motor..I'm toying with the idea of switching the Injen CAI..but..they are both awesome!

will the Injen CAI fit a 2001 MP3 some sites say that it will and some say that it wont. I have been looking everywhere for the answer
