Anyone read that gain MPG article in C&D with that mix it yourself concoction of Moth Balls, WD40 and Fuel injector cleaner? Makes a tank of gas up to 107 octane and 10-20% better MPG?

LOL... I have the ingredients written down. I will make some but I am not real keen on putting it in my car. Any volunteers?

well, if you're not and you're the OP, what do you think the rest of the community will say? mothballs & wd-40?!? ye gods, what a witch's brew you concocted...

I find snips and snails and puppy dog tails makes my ECU run lean.

I say stick with SUPER unleaded and leave it at that...NOTHING is worth blowing up the motor for a few ponies or whatever it is that it's suppose to do.

The kind that sits in a dealers lot once the motor blows and you have to wait a month to get a new motor.

This in the January C&D? I will have to read it when i get home.

Its not one of those ads in the back next to those "performance enhancing" male pills right?

I read that one too, I was wondering if it was BS or not, I'd be interested to see if it actually works but dont want to be the guinea pig. They have an entire story on the gas crunch and ways to get better MPG.

Higher octane has nothing to do with gas mileage.

Best way to get better gas mileage is to not have a heavy foot.

Short trips dont help gas mileage either, I drive 6 miles each way to work, hardly go over 3k rpm and still only get around 19-20mpg now that its cold. 150 miles on half a tank...

damn, i thought i had a problem w/ my gas mileage...i too get only 20 mpg and my daily drive is around town, 6 mi. i also try to keep the revs <3k so as not to kick in the turbo [well, as much as can be expected ;-) ], and still only 20 mpg...guess that's the best we can expect, uh?

Well the way I look at it, I can fill up every two weeks and my gas light may be on or not, but if your driving further to work you may get better gas mileage but your filling up probably twice as much. I'd sacrifice gas mileage (and odo miles) to get worse gas mileage.
