i like taking the plunge. I'm trying to define what can be done with these cars. I'm doing everything right. no 'cheapness' here. The only thing that is goofy is my inlet pipe, but it will be superb quality and definitey get the job done :D

You're going to have a lot of people with really expensive cars cry them selves to sleep, lol!!! I think I would just drive around town looking for rich kids, etc to embarrass if I were you when I was done.

haha ... true but thats looking for trouble BUT its always nice to hear "dude you just got walked by a wagon" haha

Think it can hang up to the full 22 psi? That would be too sweet.

it all depends on how the tuning goes. we'll see what the master can do.

22psi? the motor will take whatever I throw at it once properly broken in.

Nows its just in the tune

OOOOOO... PRETTTY! looks like you got your toys in my friend. I'll have to stop by later this week and check them out. =D

Lets see if you get better results than chris ms6. I'm really hoping you do.

subbing to see what your going to tune this monster with..(eekdance)

i like where your head is at :)

Sorry if this has answered but did you say a misshift broke your rod?

Yes. 6th to 2nd at 65mph will do it!

I called you when a few specific packages came in! Give me a buzz whenever. (shhhh....)

I have no doubt in my mind that this setup will run absolutely beautifully.

Give me 3 weeks and it'll be together, broken in, tuned, and sitting next to the protege garage speed 6 in Chicago for pictures and a hell of a time with Ken Zach and Jason.

Looking to do this exact build myself. Do the pistons come with new rings or did you just order new ones from Mazda?

the pistons came with new rings. They'll be gapped to 20 thousands IIRC by John Day of Richardson, TX, right behind Town north Mazda. He's a stud engine builder.

He's also honing for me, cleaning the block to new, checking tolerances between the wrist pin and rods and wrist pin and piston holes, etc.

what a stud.

bump.

ordered ARP main studs for the crank today - a good friend and fellow mazdaspeeder (Whoosh) recommended them. I don't wanna have to open up this car again! and also ordered a DMHperformance electric exhaust cutout which will be welded into the midpipe - comes with 4year warranty. I don't have and will never have a catback.

My ebay $10 navigation suction cup mount came in today which will hold my dashhawk.

bump. maybe just ordered coiilovers and a rear sway? i don't know if I should. Credit card debt is what really needs to be pai.d
