Build a voltage stabaliser / condensor

I was wondering if anyone has built a stabalizer / condensor as per N/A 1 mods?
There cant be much to these units, they mention a capacitor, this should surely just be used to smooth the dc supply voltage for the car as it filters out any induced ac voltage from the alternator.

I wonder if I built a filter (cap / inductor) network if it would work the same.

Any thoughts?

usually a high A/C bias in a DC line shows up in sound systems as alternator whine. I have a pretty decent setup in my car for sound, and I can detect no alternator whine whatsoever. This means any ripple current is likely already compensated for already. It would never hurt to install a 1 farad capacitor near the engine bay, however.

1farad is huge for just a line conditioner... a couple smaller caps would probably suffice especially if you are just doing it to help your line voltage and not nesecerely (yup thats right celery!!) for a big audio set up. i think he his refering to items like the buddy club condenser kit and the apexi condenser they are actually proven to help with a drop in power right before the vvt kicks in on the 2.3l version of our cars.

if you don't have vvt it may not make that much of a difference to your particular 1.6l i just don't know enough about them....

Ya a 1Farad cap is rather overkill for what i'm talking about. As you say, Tsunami, I am refering to the likes of the Apexi condensor kit and similar. There is NOWAY that we going to have those in South Africa, so i have to improvise.

My "little" 1.6L has VVT (alright)......

I am going to connect a extra wire from the -'ve to the TB.

Yeah we can get them shipped. However our exchange rate is high and posted is a killer. THen once its landed we pay like 14% customs, so i was thinking if there is nothing much to a condensor i would build one myself.

Im not sure how much they retail for, where do u ship thm in from and how much?? If its really worth it and its going to help my car then i shall invest in it.

How much difference does grounding the TB make as per N/A 1? Is it a significant difference?
