Broken Passenger side mirror

My wife and her sister went to a friends new house and came back home a couple of hours later last sunday night. My wife looks at me with this shocked look on her face and just sits there next to me. I said did you wreck the car? My sister in law says she broke your passenger side mirror on a garbage can. I said I would look at it in the morning. I called the dealership to see how much it would cost and they said $100 plus 50 to 75 to paint. For that much I'd rather replace both with the M3's. The mirror and casing was fine, no scratches on the paint either. The mirror broke on the arm where it turns. After work I went down to the dealership and said I need someone to look at the mirror and see if it is covered by warrenty. He asked what happened and said he didn't think it would be. I said it hit a plastic trash can, which didn't move and no scratches on the mirror. The mirror was suppose to move in towards the car, but didn't. He said if he can't see any scratches on it then Mazda won't either. So, he ordered me a new mirror and will have it painted. He will call when it's done.

your dealer is either stupid or trying to rip you off. I say stupid because the P5 mirrors come painted already if you buy them as replacements.

He said some of the mirrors come painted but not many, most were unpainted so he figured the P5 would be too.

Big ups to the free mirrors. I cracked mine, and didin't even bother going to the dealer cause it's my fault.
