Hey guys, just needed quick input I went to the track last weekend and my best time was a 17.04. I want to break into the 16's very bad, do you think the CorkSport SRI will do it with the help from Joe with a new file for the SRI? And if you don't think it will be enough please any input would be terrific thank you guys :)

Also running really high pressure, 50ish should help reduce rolling resistance. Also take out everything from the car. The seats should all be easy to remove at the track

.04 is nothing, how many passes did you make? You could run mid 16s as your car sits right now it's all about the driver.

My Bullitt is supposed to run low 14s stock and I ran 13.7s my first night at the track with it.

I made 4 passes that was my best time. The back seats are out but I did have the spare in my slowest time of the night was 17.178. I'm going back on the 29th to do more passes. I will take out the passenger seat and the spare tire. I hope to break into the 16's thanks for the input guys I'm excited to go back

You CANNOT compare track-to-track for a number of reasons:
-altitude
-track prep (surface type and what condition it's in)
-Day to day variation (humidity, temperature, etc)

But all above are good options. Weight is your biggest concern, then literally start from the ground up with going faster. Lighter and stickier wheels and tires help greatly. Rotating mass is KILLER.

Thanks for the input I'll take a good amount of weight out before next time

LOL Ironically I had my spare in as well...mostly because I misplaced my stupid wrench to take it off and couldn't find the right size socket -_-

Next time I go to the track I'll have better tires and I'l adjust the Tire Pressure so I'll hopefully at least get a bit closer to 17...17.3 is SO close it bugs me. I know I can find a way to hit that 16 second mark.

turbo....

Make sure to do brake torque launches for good starts. Its the only advantage you have with an auto.

Before you do that get a top-level synthetic trans fluid and do a full flush with a fluid exchange machine at a shop or you'll toast it.

Yea that's on my list of things to get done on the car...About to roll over 50k miles and my oil change mark along with needing new tires so I have a long list...

Ooooo that is a great idea! I'm curious to see how the auto does with no tune. If you have a smartphone I reccomend you download the app called Torque and then buy an OBD2 bluetooth reader off of eBay they got for like $10 and it's awesome. The app tells you everything the ECU can spit out. You can get AFR, Coolant temp, Catalyst temp, Timing, 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, it gives you engine speed... There are so many things google it and you will see. Thats the app I use to get my 0-60 times and my AFR reading along with coolant temp because the 2 didnt come with a gauge for temps

Since you mentioned the Torque app, I had it for a while and always got low 17's for the 1/4 mile before so today leaving the dyno I went to a quiet location and ran once; don't know how accurate these numbers are, but until I have time to take it to the drag strip i got this:

You should have a dyno graph to see where is your HP / torque peek, and evaluate when you should shift to keep the engine at a good power band.
