Brake vibration

Hey everyone,

I just noticed this the other night as I was slowing to 65 from about 90 when I noticed a 5-0 on the highway. The wheel vibrates like a little massager at Brookstone. What I find strange is that the brakes feel perfectly smooth at speeds below maybe 60. The car has 8000 miles on it. My driving is mostly highway and I am really not very hard on brakes. Additionally, the dealer has rotated the tires, so they can be responsible if the lugs were tightened improperly. Any ideas?

Most likely the onset of warped rotors.

If the tires are out of balance or weren't torqued properly, I think you would get vibration at all speeds.

If your rotors still have life left in them have them refaced, should do the trick...

good luck resurfacing these rotors. they are so close to min. specs from teh factory that most places wont touch them.

Go cheap first and loosen and retorque the lugnuts and see what happens. If that doesn't work, you might need new brakes.

Hehe, looks like I got lucky. The stealership turned the rotors, (under warranty of course), as well as installing my CAI for free today. I also got my sterio dash trim rattle to go away by stuffing the dash trim piece with trash bags, now I love the car again!
