Anybody know the approxamate size of the Brake Boost line?
I need to know this too. I went to Advance Auto Parts and they had everything but the package in the picture. What are the sizes of that tee so I can find it somewhere else?

I have a question. If the brake booster line is such a great vacuum source, why doesn't mazda and other mfg'rs just use that to begin with? Also, can someone explain how these vaccuums are created? I thought there is only a vacuum when the engine has a light load.

I'm just thinking aloud so someone correct me if I'm wrong... the brake booster line is the biggest vacuum line/hose coming off the intake manifold, thus being the best source. There is only a vacuum at light load. But you don't need brakes while in boost (I don't anyways). The vacuum line going to the bov has pressure in it while in boost, which (along with the spring inside) helps keep it closed. When you let off the throttle there is instant vacuum which (along with the air hitting the throttle body) helps to open the bov.

for the t and y fittings just go to napa or any auto parts store and they sell them in multisize packages.... just use the one that fits best........

this just gave me a new project... i wonder if the car will react a little better with the brake booster line as the primary vacuum source...

how did you guys feel for the sensor? my line is very hard I can't squeeze it.

just cut to the left of the middle about 1 to 2 inches and youll be safe. i cut right at the middle and i could see my sensor, too close!

I wish i new what was going one here. Why do we need a vacuum source to begin with?
Im a little out of my game, but i just bought a hardpipe kit, with a Greddy BOV. I was planning to install all this my self, untill i started reading. I think i regret getting the Greddy too, i should have gone with the HKS, is there anyway to change the flange without getting a new Hardpipe (Never mind, ill make a new thread for that).

None the less, why do we need a strong vacuum source?

ok i tried the p/n on autozone.com and it didnt work.....some help please....is there a different p/n on the page or what???

you can switch flanges without having to get a new pipe. good vac source for the bov and bpv is the best instead of having it t'd off of the wastegate line. I run the dual set up with both running to the brake booster and i have no turkey anymore and all woosh!

how do you un-weld the greedy flange?

what is a Brake Booster?

im presuming you can cut it off.....or there may be a flange that will fit to the greddy and have the hks on the other side. the brake booster is the line that runs through the mani that is the strongest.

Does it really make that big of a difference? I'm running my hks ssqv in recirculation on my coldpipe and putting the vaccum on the BB line seems like a fairly easy mod to do.
