BOV whining as soon as boost builds!

I have a Greddy Type S BOV and I managed to recirculate it, but it makes a terrible noise! When my boost builds up it seriously sounded like a whining sound or kinda like When u blow up a balloon and make the end tight while letting air out. So I took it off immediately and put it back to normal so I don't hurt anything. What's going on? I made it so the spring was soft as it could go. Then tightened the screw about half way. And once the boost built. It started making that terrible whining sound no matter what. Can somebody help me? Thanks.

spring could be to soft allowing the boost pressure to push oven the valve causing the noise.

+1, tighten the spring some more. You aren't going to hurt anything. Tighten until you don't hurt the sound anymore while driving. Just don't tighten too much or you will start fluttering

PHP:
Are you taking about the sound after the bov releases the pressure or you hear it when the boost build up? If so bov shouldn't whine while building boost only the turbo so bov may be gone or need to seriously tighten that screw. May also wanna check the vac that connects to the bov.

read ^^^ plus it was said that it was loosened as far as it would go and then tightened half way. He needs to tighten it some more

So I tightened the screw and it still is making that whining. It sounds like it could be some sort of vacuum leak or something. Maybe the spring itself isn't hard enough? Idk.. I'm starting to not like the Greddy Type S. so any suggestions? I'd like to keep it recirculated but would like it to have a nice sound also.

Probably a knock off I'm guessing by the quality. I'm not sure how to identify. But it's the purple top. And it says Greddy right on the side.

Do a search online, there are comparison images out there that'll show you what to look for. If its a knockoff, I'm going Adam Savage on you with a "well there's your problem". There are some fantastic knockoffs out there, and I'd bet there are more knockoffs than real ones at this point. If its legit, then you can keep digging.

Also, when you say "put it back to normal" do you mean with the factory BPV? How are you connecting the type S to your IC piping?

If its a knock off I wouldn't be surprised on why it's not working. And yeah, when I say put it back to normal I mean stock BPV. And I'm replacing my BPV with the BOV..just recirculating.

I know this isn't quiet what ur asking. But I'll explain to u how I've got it. Ok, I've got the hose coming from the IC going into the bottom of the BOV. I've got the intake tube going into the side Horn. My boost controller is connected to this as well, but I've got the small vacuum hose connected to the tiny horn on the top of the BOV. And then the little horn pointing diagonally down has nothing. (should I put a plug on that?) so if u picture the BOV on the car, the large horn is pointing kinda towards the ground and the bottom of the BOV is pointed to the front of the car.

I appreciate u trying to help me out but the response back seemed alil rude to me. I'm connecting my BOV to the IC or Boost tube or whatever it's Is ur tryin to say by the 1" hose that went to the factory BPV. Which is going to the bottom of my BOV. I have a recirculating adaptor.

doesn't help even a little bit... snap a pic or something.

jesus man -- what the **** are you still doing around here dealing with this s***? don't you have a kid on the way or something?

and to the OP -- let's be clear here, carl's trying to help you. he doesn't owe you s*** -- he's rude? is that your way of saying thanks? what you're describing doesn't make any sense. this isnt brain surgery but it helps to take a picture.

and read this. this took me .002 seconds to search for.
