I drove to SF from LA and bottomed out immediately upon arrival. It didn't seem too bad but when I gave gas from that point on I heard a loud rotational clanking noise sounding like it's from the real driver wheel, but only when the car is under power. I brought the car to a dealership and they said it was the rear motor mount (???) which they replaced and told me the car was ready for pick up. I though, cool that's weird but all better. Nope driving in the service parking lot the noise was still there. After having 4 or 5 guys take the car for a drive, pull it up on the riser and drive it up there we think it might be a rear axel or the differential. Now when driving it off the lot I thought hey, let me lift the e brake a notch to get rid of AWD. Boom, no more noise at all. It's probably more likely that it's a rear axel than the diff knowing that it goes away when the car is in FWD mode only, correct? any other possible ideas?

We were under the car for 30 mins, you could see where my corcksport exhaust was scratched but no other damage, and nothing was loose to the touch. I'm bringing to it my LA dealer first thing Monday morning. Any help would be great for now thanks.

check the rear diff mount. its a known weakspot.
