I couldn't agree with you more Sir Nuke! Growing up in the 60's was a pretty good time!!
yes it was....a time when kids could run around their neighborhoods till well after dark and their parents didn't have to worry about them....

and when we entertained ourselves by playing OUTSIDE!

those were the days....

Man when I was in 1st grade a coke was 10 cents and a candy bar was 15 cents. Lunch could be had at school for under a dollar. This was in 1976.

I could drive my 1960 Impala up and down main street all night for less than a dollar!! (in 1975)
Yup! Used to fill up my '67 Beetle for just about 5 bux.

I liked National Lampoons with Chevy Chase. There were other movies that he did that I thought were hilarious. I used to watch Monty Pythons Flying Circus and Benny Hill when I could sneak a peek, but my parents were of course opposed to that. lol I'm not that old though... I was a few years old when everyone else in here were driving around in their cars and such. So... how many civil war vets in here??? (just kidding) lol

I did used to ride to school in my Murray with my big ol banna seat when the world around me seemed to be "a safer place". I rode 2 miles to school on my bike every morning and afternoon. Nowadays, if my son wants to go outside I have to watch him like a hawk and I take him to school in the car. You never see a kid go to school on their bikes anymore. Those days are long gone.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I used to love Battlestar Gallactica and Buck Rogers... some more of my favories. When tv USED to be safe at ANYTIME of the day to watch it.

that's what saddens me the most - its our kids. I remember when I was my oldest son's age (9), I would leave first thing in the morning, and as long as I was home by the time the street lights came on I was good with my folks. Now I don't trust letting any of my 3 guys out of my sight. If I can't see one of them out of the corner of my eye I freak!

that has to be the most retarded article ever... i remember most of that stuff and its a cheap shot at the youth of today, saying they dont understand life before them.

no...born on or after 1986 your young (birthday) and still having sleep overs...lol, i guess i'm old
