Boosted Mp3!!!

ok cool, i didnt notice this b4.

Also, since i reset my ecu. My car is running a lot richer. i am in 10:1-11:1


Why is this?? Also my car had some hesitation when i went to accelarate at a light. It sort of bogged out, then it took off. Also my exhaust tends to back fire radimly when just cruisin around not in boost. Is this normal? I have my silencer in my exhaust.

those backfires if because of a rich condition.

I had a lot of LOUD backfires....specially when changing gears and not boosting.

I had a piping directly from the turbo to back, no resonators or cats and the explosions were really loud, and I mean, REALLY LOUD!

Those boggy launches were usual on my setup. Now they dont exist. The torque that my car now has, is amazing and the turbo spools so darn fast. I dont know why is this happening, maybe is because the fuel is not that much as yours and 2nd; Im not boosting at all. I will not raise the boost until installing an inline fuel pump. I think my stock fuel pump has lost some power.
 
i plan, on getting a inline pump too I wont go above 5psi till then.I just have so many expenses latley. Brakes are next, mine are almost gone. Im gonna play around some more with te FMU to try and lean it out a lilttle. back around 12:1. I will be heading up to wagnermotorsports again on the 6th, to recirculate my BOV, do some fine tunning, and go to the dyno. The car runs great, gobs of power. I have yet to really had the open road to go all out on yet. But i have been having a ton of fun. boosting in 2nd gear is awesome, so much power, the car really takes off. I want to try and get to the track (will be my first time). The LSD and boost make a great combo.


BTW: first tank of gas Sunoco 94 octane. I got 22mpg.
 
whare did you get the sparco wires and the lsd? im gonna go check out there shop on monday if i can find it ,its right up the road from whare i work.

i got the sparko wires from a group buy a while back. i think the site is www.sparko.com

I got the LSD from my local mazdaspeed dealer.
 
I didnt feel like opening a new thread, but here is a pic of my recirculating greddy types BOV. It still sounds good, and no more stalling or super rich after getting off the gas. I recomend it to all people venting to the atmosphere. I didnt even relize i was in the habbit of bumping the gas everytime i shifted or went into neutral. Yesterday i had andy put a magnaflow high flow resonator (2.5"ID)in and adjusted my jic muffler a lil. The exhaust sounds awesome and looks sick too, I will post pics next time i wash my car. I also put my awr rear mount in today.

I love this car.

I make my hks BOV to recirculate too, and the car now feels almost like stock... if it wasnt for the AWR mounts nobody would notice until boosting.

So I may know how you feel, the car now is just about power wise. And Im only boosting 5psi and having a lot of fun.
Now im looking to dressup the engine.

How much psi are you boosting?

Thanks for the compliments. I plan on doing painting a few things and maybe move the battery to the trunk some day to make it look a lil cleaner.
Im running around 4psi (aprox .28bar). i am just playing it safe, plus i still have a mp3 ecu.

I should be getting my piggy back oct 4th. then i will run 8psi. That might be the highest i run just for reliabilty reasons. I will wait to see how peoples trannys/engines hold up at 10+psi.

for now i am plenty happy at 4psi, 5th gear on the highway is a blast, the car pulls so hard. No more need to down shift, touch the gas and im in boost. Not to mention how fun it is in every gear. My car feels very stock, except for the mounts too, but i will live with the vibration.

If you look at mine the bov has a hose going to the intake right b4 the turbo.

I only took it for a ride around the block, but it still put off a loud whistle/chirp. I think if you recirculate it close to the filter you wont loose much sound. I was surprise by how it was still loud.

I will post again tomorrow after i do some more driving on it. I remember you have a CAI so it might hurt the sound some b/c you wouldnt be that close to the filter.
 
update: i got 26mpg this past tank, with a lot of spirited driving. about 80 miles were on the highway. I use to get 25-28mpg b4 boost. I got my FMU dialed in perfectly, i am no higher than 12.4 and no lower than 10.9 when in boost. Brfore i always hit erl when at full boost. I have about 2200 miles on the car since turbo'd. I did my first oil change since the turbo also. My motormounts are settleing in a bit, and dont vibrate as bad anymore. I also ordered my MPI piggyback which will be getting installed on the 5th of october. I need brakes bad.. I was next to an EVO 8 today and he pulled on me real hard... time to up the boost. 8psi soon.

thats the formula... of course the C stands for degrees celcius.. pretty self explanitory
