Boost/Throttle Limit in 1st/2nd (0-60)

So I'll have my intake soon and soon after that I'm going to be doing TIP and boost tubes...and then comes the branch where I choose between HyperTech and Cobb AccessPort. Now, I'm leaning towards AP because I love the ability of being able to customize my maps in ATR but in the beginning I don't really want to screw around too much. Now, what I'm wondering is are there any maps that you can download from Cobb that have the load cap in 1st/2nd removed? Or does stage 1 already remove it?

If not, is it easy to use ATR to just remove this boost cap without screwing up the whole tune? Like just increase the requested torque from that 85 or whatever percent it is to 100?

I don't care if I roast my tires. I want my damn car making the power it should be making.

Well, Hypertech might be a good place to start. I can't answer your question about AP maps.

I've been running stock ECU for close to 40,000 miles with my mods in sig for all but about the first 10,000. I just got the Hypertech tune about a month ago. I love the Hypertech tune, including the removal of the 0-60 restriction.

But to be honest with you, the problem is traction, not power. My 0-60 times and 60 ft times are identical with or without lifting the restriction. The tires just smoke either way. You have to feather any kind of WOT launch and feather it through second gear too on street tires.

What I can say is that with the 0-60 restriction lifted, the car is much more lively and fun to drive at lighter throttle settings short of breaking the tires loose. The throttle mapping brings the power in earlier in the movement of the accelerator pedal. There's more of a fun factor in the lower gears, but you won't really be any quicker without much stickier tires, IMHO.

x2 on exactly what MSMS3 said....although I kinda like the 0-60 restriction to a certain degree because you can lay into it without having to be so careful of roasting the tires, my car feels alittle quicker with it to me than without it.. but who's to say I have never done any time trials to see if it is or not.

Don't forget about the standback.

First gear at 15+psi will do nothing but spin. 2nd gear depends on your tires mainly, but you'll spin.

i have my SB tune to ramp up to 19psi and then drop to 16 when approaching 5000+ rpm's, also my boost is clipped at 4psi. flooring it in 2nd gear gets me a little bit of wheel spin but manageable. i couldn't do that on stock tires (wayyy too much spinning) but my new nitto tires can handle it.

spinning tires is lost power to the ground
