Boost not noticable until very high RPM

im going to call the dealership when i get back home... is this a problem that usually takes a long time to fix and/or needs parts to be ordered?
sorry about all these questions but i just had my car at the dealer for like 2 weeks so im just frusterated

it depends, but do have them look at it
if your pinging on stock boost then that just gives our case about their bad ecu tuning more weight, not that theyll ever do anything more about it, but they should know.

Sounds like you are knocking pretty hardcore, dealer needs to see it PRONTO.

Curious, did you buy the car new or used and is it a 2003 or 2003.5?

i'm glad i'm not the only one who gets pinging at stock boost...

yes i do use premium, always.

i've told the dealer about pinging at higher rpm's..they go drive it and say its fine. they told me i shouldnt be that high up in the rmps anyway because the car looses power after 5500 or some bs like that...

see what we have to deal with..its like an uphill battle with this car all the time. now i have a brand new Greddy Profec B spec II just sitting in my room because i dont even want to put it in now when my ******* car pings at stock boost..

i've been saying this for awhile, about the pinging, etc and no one really cared..but i think its pretty sad when a car is having detonation problems at 6-7 psi....

i've been to so many different dealers, so many times....its getting pointless anymore...

Flash would actually hurt more if it hasn't been done already...advancing timing on a pinging car = more pinging

and it sucks even more for us out in Cali where we can only get 91...

because they're fukin lazy and don't know how to tune the damn car...

try swapin out ur plugs or at least insp them.....pinging is basically pre-detonation = kaboom to ur motor.....I have no time to be dropin my car off for this crap honestly....make sure and only get good quality gas......shell, sunoco, or mobil 1 and check ur plugs.....

i have tried the stock plugs, the ngk colder copper plugs, and now i have in the denso iridium...and still get pinging on hot days. i'll check the plugs, but i dunno if that'll change anything...

check to see if they show any detonation..thats all.....and hope for a better flash or ems.....at this point im about to get the mpi tuner just to tuen my stock msp right :)

alright, so basically if i dont drive my car hard and if i use good gas there isnt much of a threat
i hope the dealer can do something about this though
