Boost and Oil Guage hookups....

I just got my autometer Pro Comp Oil and Boost guages with the stainless steel hoses. The end to the boost pressure guage is much to large to hook to one of my vacuum lines. My shop wants to tap into the manifold and thread in the line to get a stable and direct line to boost pressure. I dont know what to do. does anyone know of a better way, just the idea of drilling my manifold doesn't seem like the best idea to me but it may be. Does anyone know what the best course of action is....thanks

tap any of the rats nest vacuum lines on the manifold..
brake booster works best...

any vac line will do but going direcly in to the manifold is the most constant,and accurate

Drilling the Mani seems like a waste of time. Use a normal vac line on the original mess of lines.

Oil is the simplest to do but I dont see much peopel doing it. Get a Greddy oil block adapter...its like $50-90 depending where you buy it. It will save you some time and headaches. All you have to do is screw this thing between your oil filter and block...where your oil filter goes. And stick in your probes or sensors...and bam...your done. There are two places to slide sensors in perfect for oil pressure and oil temp. There also an oil return line I believe...makes it easy to add a oil catch can or oil cooler if you want. If you are interested I know a guy who is selling it...PM me and I'll send you his info...hes a fellow MSP owner. I'll be getting mine this afternoon. Heres a pic

Here's a pic of the tee fitting you can use, cost me $3 with a 1' length of vac hose and works great. Admittedly it's fugly, but I'm not showing the car and am more concerned with durability./ It can attach to about any diameter of vac line there is.

so if you tap intom the manifold you will get a more accurate and more secure reading? time is not a problem, my shop is always just ******* with my car anyways and it sits there while i am out of town or in school. is that the best but most tedious option or is it not a good idea?

This is half correct. The manifold in the protege has two chambers. Be very careful which line you chose. GO DIRECTLY to the line on top near runner number two. It does not matter if it is tapped along with other sources. There is also no need to tap the manifold. It will not make it any more accurate or constant.

I've got no beef, I already aired all my stuff out in the open a long time ago.

I've made similar comments - and much stronger offensive comments to other members of this forum on multiple occasions. I actually went a little easy just to save the headache of drama.
