Bogging down problem

I know we are all raddling our brains on this one (I know I have been for a while now). I Think your right on not cutting a hole (allowing dirt in the intake is a bad thing lol). Also, thats bypass valve was recently put on. I was running it without it and whether it is on or off still did not make a difference with the bogging issue. I can buy another MAF and see if it will make a difference (sometimes parts are bad from the vendor so I could have easily gotten another bad MAF). And I did take this to the dealer and have asked them to check the fuel pump and make sure everything is on the up and up, so im pretty sure it has something to do with the MAF not liking the CAI. I would put the stock air box on, but me being me, I like to figure out why its not working and to solve the problem incase anyone else comes accross this.

Anyways, I also want to say thanks to everyone who is attepting to help me out with this problem!!!

I hope you find out what's going on with you car.. but to me it sounds a lot like what happened to me. I had MAF issues when I installed my fujita F5 CAI.
I didn't properly give enough slack on the MAF's wire harness and it snapped one of the wires. When it snapped I couldn't hold idle, it would eventually stall at complete stops (black wire was cut).

I took the MAF off sent it to LucasPL88 (forum member), and he rewired it for me and extended them with much durable wiring. No problem since!
I did however use butt connectors for a few months to re-wire them, thats when i found out every color of those wires will react differently, the red wire one if its cut, u will lose mid-top end power and of course a CEL.

Yeah, I was reading up on that saying the wires tend to break off at the connector. I did check them brefore (took apart clip made sure they are all in, and just to be on the safe side, put some conducting goop in there) So I think there good. Altho, it never hurts to look again. So I think when I get some spare cash (just spent my paycheck getting tires for her) I will buy a new MAF and give it a go again. Also, just out of curiosity.. Does anyone know how many volts are suppose to be going to the "hot" wires.. is it +5Volts?

Damn car stalled on me when I was sitting at a red light!!! Any one else want to take a stab at this problem? I will also be posting a video some time hopefully today of me driving, you will be able to see what exactly happeneds when im driving.

Thanks,
Matt

iam having the same problem with my 04 3 i have a snap on tools computer reader and it comes up as bank one senor too slow so my guess is that our 02 sensor off the header is gone correct me if iam wrong hope this helps

any solutions yet? ive been checking back to this thread to see if any fixes! the wait is killin me! (nailbyt)

lol none yet. What I am waiting on is a scan tool to check out everything (friend should be bringing it next week) after I check out some reading I will go from there. I don't want to but anything if I don't need it (new MAF or somekind of tune). So once I log some data I will post back. Wish me luck!!!

I'd like to see a video!

Try stopping at Auto zone. I know they used to do free engine diagnostic scans. Might get a new trbl code.

Alright.. so it sounds more and more like a faulty MAF sensor. Thanks for the input. If the damn sensor wasent $100-$200 I would just say screw it and buy another one, but I dont want to spend that much on something exspecially if its not going to change anything lol. stupid cars!!!!
