Body work- accident - Mazda dealership or else where??

Ok so I don't know if I'm posting in the right spot here but anyways...

Has anyone had any major work done at the Mazda dealerships?? Are they good expensive? Is it better off just to go to any body shop place?

I got into a car accident today. I hit the median in the middle of the freeway.and I am wondering how much this is going to cost to get fixed !! My damn air bags never went off either(confused).

Eeek, its not too bad. Most expensive part is going to be paint of course. Mine was far worse, I wasted a street sign and replaced my bumper myself. Paint was the most expensive part of the fix.

Edit: Sorry, I didnt use Mazda for any of it. I got the parts off of forum members and had the car painted at a local place. Now mazda wont know when I trade it in (shh)

if you airbags went off for something as small as that then the cost of damage would be in the thousands.

Yea damage isnt that bad, but it was scary as hell, never been in a accident before! I was comming on to the freeway and i was going to fast on the ramp and i lost control and went out into the freeway did doughnuts in the middle of the freeway then ramed into the median.. but anyways would you concider going to mazda or some where else

sorry, youre too quick! I edited my last post. I chose to go independent. My dealership doesnt do body work anyway. I cant tell if your bumper is repairable or not from the pics. Mine wasnt. It cost me 900 bucks to paint the bumper and hood and pull a dent in the hood. Bumper and lip from forum members was around 450 bucks. So all in all it was around 1400 to fix my car.

glad your ok. But yeah, if you're not hurt, then it is good the air bags didn't go off. It'd probably be at least 2000 to fix that alone. Anyway, I've had good luck just taking to a bodyshop. They probably do just as good if not better work than a dealership, plus insurance covered it after the deductible so I wasn't concerned with the cost. 3C fixed a side panel pretty well.

I guess this means I wont be going to Florida in July gotta pay for this.. and the insurance is in my boyfriends Name and Im co driver..... ahhhh now that goes up not just on me but him to for my stupidity

Def dont goto mazda to get ur car fixed. find a reputable car repair shop nearby & have them fix it.

I didnt use insurance. My deductible was 500 dollars and they would just raise my premiums anyway. Paid the extra 850 bucks and kept my premiums where they were.

simple, dont tell insurance... just look around for a bumper without saying y and go from there, no one is gonna ask questions, if they do say someone took a bat to ur bumper or something...

^^^ I dont know? Did you get a ticket? I doubt they would find anything out unless you got a ticket. You shoulda just gotten the hell outta there ha ha.

Yea a ticket for 196.00 for not being able to control the car or something. I wouldve left but. this was my first accident i didnt know what to do I was scared I just went flying into the freeway doing doughnouts and saw trucks flying by me honking their horns, then bam into the wall and some guy came to see if i was ok and i screamed at him... but yea i sat there for awhile thinking what happended then a lil later cops were there..

Yes a accident report. I screamed at some guy cause I was scared.. It wasnt like a yelling at you scream just a scared scream...... I talked to my boyfriend he said hes not mad just wish it didnt happen.. hmm i think he really is verrrrrry mad at me right now though

Ahh that sucks. Huh, i got pulled over for gettin on the highway around 90 MPH yesterday. The cop told me that I was going to spin out I was like no. No ticket though. Well if the ticket says accident resulting then it may go up due to that. It may not have that much of an effect on your insurance though if you dont hit them up for repairs.

I blasted that sign and looked at my passenger and was like "Get out and push! Hurry up!" I was stuck in a snowbank with a sign all bent over on someones lawn. Dont tell the police, that is a no no.
