I'd like to get some feedback from any folks who have had the Bluetooth module replaced in their 2014 CX-5. I bought my CX-5 Touring 5 months ago and have had all the frustrations with the entertainment system that everyone else has reported. I was in the dealership recently for my first free oil change and mentioned the issues to the service manager. He acted like it was news to him, but did say that he was aware of a software update that was available for the 2014s. The BT module has to be replaced to update the software so they had to order a new module. I got a call this morning from the service manager that the new module has arrived and wanted to schedule an appointment to get it replaced. He said it would take about 2 hours. I'm a bit constrained on leave at work right now, so I'm not sure I want to make this appointment if the software update doesn't solve any of the issues. So I wanted to hear from anyone who has had their BT module replaced and whether there was any noticeable result.

By the way, I discovered on another thread how to check the software version (hold power and seek> buttons simultaneously, then enter code 38) and my current software version was shown to be 06.02.000

thanks!

Finally had the BT module replaced yesterday. No noticeable difference in functionality of the entertainment system so far, other than my iPhone 5S no longer works in iPod mode when connected via USB. But I suspect that is due to having upgraded to iOS 8.0.

Apple will not support USB in the future for anything. AS soon as they have wireless charging in place, there won't be a port on you unit. Suck. IOS8 is the precursor to all this.

I'm already charging my phone wirelessly, home and in the car, but it's Samsung. Phone gets pretty hot though. It's very convenient.
