Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

if you're still having problems with your oil gauge, use a clamp to attach some wire to the sending unit and then ground that on the car somewhere. If you don't ground the sending units, they won't work.

why does your boost gauge read -15 when the car isnt on??

Gauge was broke. Returned and got new one! Vac reads about 20, boost at 5 max.

Still having coolant issues! Got rid of bypass mod to see if that work, it didn't, I hAve 180 degree thermostat to put in and I'll tightenbelt as well. If this doesn't work I have no idea what's next. Fluctuated between 160-190 for 15min of driving then to 210

Also does anyoNe know where nipple on msp coolant line that sits under intake mani goes? The other nipple on that line is on driver side of engine and runs to throttle body

u can also smell the coolant from inside heating up

edit: how can i tell if pump bad?

the hayden fans out of the box are set up as a pusher fan. it'll say black is positive on the fan lable, as well as in the instructions. what you need to do is remove the fans, flip it over so you can see the fan blade, the silver nut, remove that and the little washer, pull the fan blade off and flip it, the motor has a flat spot on it so u gotta line up the hole on the blade. reinstall the washer and nut. reinstall the fans and wire it up with the black wire to ground. now it is a puller fan.

you should wire the fans to the stock wiring. if you don't want to cut the chassis wiring harness you can remove the connectors from the stock fans. the A/C fan has a pigtail for its connector so you can just cut that and splice it. the radiator fan needs to have the motor opened up so you can cut the connector off it and solder wires to the pins, obviously after this the radiator fan will be garbage.

thats crazy you have to pull fans off and reverse them. i had fans wired to stock harness and it seemed they never came on, thats why i decided to wire them the way i have them. for example after installing i turned ac on and fan did not come on as the stock one would

here are pictures of my fans. note the direction of the blades. the fans spin counterclockwise so the blades are grabbing the air. opposie of the directon on the label. black wire is ground. note how i wired them up as well

did you check the stock harness with a voltmeter to rule out connection problems? how did you wire them? check your fuses. you don't want the fans running the whole time. best way to check your fans is to unplug the ECT sensor, the ecu throws a failsafe that will run both fans constantly

J_Naoto, heres pics of my return. not the best cuz the spashshield was in the way. but it's a straight shot down to the bung on the pan, where you can see how high it is. again, this location is not optimal but it's the best you'l get on the pan

so basically you matched colors for the wiring with the harnesses, and then reversed the fan. i didn't think fans would be this much of a hassle, ha. i thought they were basically plug and play. i will give it a try here in a few.

yes, the solid black wire on the stock harness is ground, connect it to the black wire on the fan.

these fans are awesome, compact affordable and do a great job. i only have 10" fans too. they allow different configs in one setup. say later down the road you get a thicker radiator and don't have the room. with a traditional fan you would have to toss it and buy new pusher fans. with these you just reverse the blades and wiring and install them to the front of the radiator

k, i'll pull it up on my iphone so i have pics to go from with the fans. this coolant issue is really bothering me though. could this be the reason?

dude there not anything special....i got two 12 in fans on ebay for 50 shipped... and thats the curved blade ones not the crappy straight bladed ones....and they allow the blade to be flipped, and the motor to operate in either direction... also only 2.5 in. tall at the motor....

should both fans be identical? Odd how the 12" is already pointing that direction as ur 10"s are now.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA...how much did you pay for those "hayden" fans....those are the exact same ones as i bought on ebay...2 for 50 shipped!!!!!

90 for both, I got a deal considering their 100+ for both of them usually.

I think i may be confused on what exactly the point of reversing the fans themselves, when you can reverse the wiring and the fans turn into pullers as well? or do the fans not work when you reverse the wiring with the stock wiring? Almost done, i'll get pics soon so you guys can analyze how i did them and let me know what you think...

you can buy hayden fans at advanced auto. the 10" retail for like $56 each. but my friend works there so i get employee pricing.
