Blown Horn...Time To Visit Mazda

Well its been pouring in NYC, and I was out like a dumbass driving in it over the weekend. I'm guessing it was the water, but I didn't drive over any puddles. When I hit the horn all you hear is a clicking noise, and I did check the fuse it was ok. It was raining when I was checking the fuse box in the engine bay. I accidentally tried close the hood with the cover on the engine.

Hopefully the warranty will cover everything and I don't have to pay anything. How long will it take Mazda to replace it?

the horn is pretty easy to get at.. look for a how-to on removing the grill. I added a second horn along with the stock one to give it a more "moving" horn tone. If they make you pay for the horn (they shouldnt) I would suggest getting the horn out of the 626 or something that is louder, or buying an aftermarket one.

It's a real wimpy sounding horn anyways.

Upgrade to some big rig airhorns.

Next time some idiot cuts you off and you hit the horn....

Watch them crap their pants!

I would use this opportuniy to upgrade to a real horn!!

I've got the Freeway Screamer Low-Tone offered for $12.99 at any autoparts store. In fact I made a b**** in a PT s*** herself after cutting me off this morning! :D

Yeah! If it needs to be replaced, dump the wmpy-pee-on horn and get some real ones. You could probably do it yourself once you take the grill off. I'm gonna do that once it stops raining (the way spring never came, it'll stop raining once it starts snowing).

how do you replace stock horn with aftermarket ones?
I hate our stock horn sounds (outie)

Just pop the top grill off. remove the one 10mm bolt holding the stock one. Remove the one wire that is connected and replace it with the new one.

Wimpy wimpy wimpy

Any other recommendations for different horns? I swear our horn sounds like it belongs in a LeCar or a scooter.

And I was just going to ask if anyone had modded their horn.

I have the Hella twin air horns on my car....................let's just say ,you will be heard !!!(laugh)

I had my horn installed at a local performance shop ,I felt a little better having someone who has put them in before do it rather than me with my little experience.Anyway the horn is about $50 and the install was a little under an hours labour ,so it came to with tax roughly $125(a little pricey i know but that's what you get when you don't tackle it yourself). It sounds great on the street and also just remember that when you double click your key fob to hear the horn when you lock the car it is a loud short air blast that will wake the neighbours .hee.hee!!!:D
