Last night I tested the blower motor and it works fine. I eventually found the blower motor resistor and it appeared to have continuity(as per the Haynes manual).
I tried to bypass the switch using a relay however it didnt work. I checked the line for voltage(line at the back of the switch) 22 gauge that showed ignition. I used that to trigger the relay but it didnt work. At that point, the heater switch was set to high(setting #4). When I tested the line again it showed no voltage, however when I moved the switch from high to off, it showed 12V.
My thinking is that the switch is okay because there was 12V with teh switch in the off position(for the ign) and 0V with it on setting 4(high).
As for the resistor, I tested according to the Haynes manual for continuity and it was fine. I also tested resistance and that was also okay(not sure if the values were reading what they supposed to, but it did show a reading).
I dont know what else to check, and I am thinking of replacing both the resistor and switch and giving it a try again. (going to buy from wreckers however the risk is i may get stuck with the parts if they do not correct the problem)
I checked a heavy gauge(blue_white) at the switch and it had no voltage. This same blue white wire runs to the resistor and the blower motor...so no power there means, no power in the other two locations...I rechecked all fuses and alls well there.
I went to the dealer and they said theres no relay for that particular circuit.
Im lost now...any thoughts?
