Blacking out the headlights?

How hard is it to black out the headlights and reseal them? I know you have to bake them and whatnot but what is the entire procedure and what are the materials I'm going to need? Thanks for your input in advance!

I did mine and they ended up too dark to see anything with at night. I strongly suggest getting overlays from somewhere instead. IMO, they are easier to put on and if you ever need/want to go back stock it's much easier. After I tried to go back to just clear lens, they looked cloudy and awful. Just my .02

No... not night-shade or overlay them... I should have clarified, sorry.

I just want to paint the chrome rings around all the lights black.

its a fairly easy process just takes time! just remove them and take out all your bulbs and the rubber thing around the main light, put it in the oven at 170-200 degrees for about 10-20 minutes. maybe do 10 minutes first and see if they'll pull apart. they should just pull apart but you can use a screwdriver to pry them but just be careful and dont use alot of force with the screw driver. the glue is way sticky so just try and keep it all cleaned up. then you just paint and when its all back together bake them again at the same temp to reseal the glue! now the glue may not settle even after its all done so you can put silicone around the lenses to be safe.

i just got some cheap stuff from wal mart! it was like a dollar for the paint then i just got some decent clear coat from there too!just dont use krylon that s*** sucks!

Like hi-temp stuff? Or what? Why not use krylon? I used fusion for plastic on my badges and it was awesome.

i just have some locals out here that have used it and its sucked! but im sure high temp stuff would be fine but i just used the s*** thats like a dollar a can at walmart! just some regular semi flat s***!

used krylon on my wheels and its held good for the last 2months or so. no fades. chips. or anything... s**** goood. (wiggle)
