This tube about 1/3 to 1/2 in diameter, bout 4-5 inches long with one bend an inch after it leaves the firewall, has no cap and extends out from center of the firewal towards the turbo on the backside of the engine. Anyone one know what this is........? is it suppose to have a cap?

:) I saw a similar tube on my wifes mariner. After she runs the A/C water comes out of the tube. Scared me at first cause I saw fluid in the driveway.

I honestly believe it is some sort of condensation drain after you run the A/C. So no worries and leave it un plugged! Well unless you like water inside your car.

The tube he trying to describe is this one.

It is located just behind the Mazda logo in this picture.

So there is no way it could be the condenser run off it would have to travel up the five inch tube.

Stick a zip tie or a wire snake in there and see where it goes. Maybe its a secret passage to the heart of the beast that takes you to far away places where the Speed 6 has 400 bhp. Maybe its a wire chase for a forgotten harness. I bet it goes all the way to the trunk and is for eveyrone that wants to run an 8 gage power wire back there for their amps.

it's a condinsate drain for the A/C
when you use the A/C it's produces condinsation, and drips out this tube.

Like I said in my previous post this tube point strait up and it is five inches long so it cant be a drain for s***. If any thing it is a vent for something.

Doesnt do anything, some say its a carryover from another model or an inspection hole. Dont worry about it. Its not a vent or anything important.

That's the correct tube in the pics above. I thought, maybe they forgot to put a cap in it. Condensation drain?.........hmmmm okie. I only feel marginally better that there's no consensus as to its actual purpose but I can live with condensation drain........(poke)

Although Javanc's idea about it being the 'untapped' reservoir for more HP sounds better.(glare)

The 2006 MAZDASPEED6 vehicles have a tube sticking out of the fire wall.
The tube is used to inspect the brake line connections during the final
inspection process at the assembly plant, and is not a functional part.
Do not attempt to remove or insert anything into this tube.

Thanks Mr Man you are the greatest. See i knew it was a black hole. Just an inspection hole. Nuts.
