Finally after two months my black headlights from jpspecz@yahoo.com came in. They give the car a nice aggressive look. GhostP5 did such a good how-to paint your headlights(http://mazdamp3.com/vbb230/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28954) but chose not to attempt it after I did such a good job of warping the s*** out of my APC tails trying to paint those :(

Nice! I'm thinking when you have the interior done you have got yourself a show stopper :)

I was looking at my headlights, and I don't think the blackening how-to would work. p5 lights are quite different, and each light has its own reflective cone. My whole headlight is the reflector. Blackening would reduce much of the reflected light.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'll get some close-up shots later today or tomorrow.

Interior is not quite done but coming along nicely.

Jspec vs Aspec?

side mirrors are now definitely staying black, especially when I put on the black tails next week

mazda is the s***: you really need them on that black ride of yours!!!

witchdoktor - the difference between the two specs is the headlight aim - american and euro specs have the left hand side pointed lower so as to not blind oncoming motorists, while lighting up the right hand side of the road high, and out wide

kinda like this:

whereas j-spec, and ausspec are like this \ |

got it??

did you have to order those two as separate parts?? coz i wanna do the headlights but i'm not brave enough to do the indicators myself!!

i know this sounds stupid, but couldnt you just use the alignment screws inside the headlight housing to adjust the beam?

did you get those from that dude on ebay? i didn't think those were really j-spec lights anyway. i got the black housing corners on mine, but im not messing with the headlights at all.

yeah Matthew, you can do that. I did it on my 02.5 P5. I believe its a 10mm nut that you rotate in either direction. my question is fog light aim but i probably just need to use the search button. when I was changing my oil I found the screw I think it is but the entire bumper moved and I decided not to play with it.
