What's up everyone..

My first post on this board and have been itching to get some pics up of a mod I did just yesterday. I actually did a few mods yesterday. Put on the Power Slot rotors, Hawk pads, painted calibers black and colored the center hub covers on the wheels a mettalic black color.

Let me know what you guys think!

Okay dumb question here. I painted the front calipers and they look great, but couldn't get the F---ing rear wheels off. Lug nuts came off and I got a hammer and tapped various parts of the wheel, but no go. I didn't want to bend the rim. What's going on? They haven't been taken off since purchasing the car new. It's like they are welded. Sorry for the stupid question, but I need a suggestion. :D

Just give it a good tap with a mallet.

With our cars, and many others, the alloy in the wheels chemically bonds with the metal of the hubs. Makes it a little tough to get off sometimes. :D

I tried that with a regular hammer wrapped in a rag to prevent damage and the s*** wouldn't come off. Maybe I should just wail on it (smash) (chair) (smash) (crazy) (dunno)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I am really happy with this simple...yet effective little mod. :)

About getting the rear tires off. What I usually do when a tire is giving a hard time is to sit down and just give each side of the tire a good bottom foot kick to the side of the wheel. That usually does the trick.

Knowing my luck, it will come off the jack and **** up the side of the car. :D I'll try it. Maybe get a running start!;)

You can loosen the nuts on the wheels and just drive a few feet on your drive way.

Thanks for the info alexlitov...you mentioned don't take lug nuts off completely, but forgot to mention take the jack off. :p

By the way Hooligan, what kind of paint did you use for the center and did you brush some primer on it too? Looks great!

I pity the fool that doesn't kick the s*** out of his wheels!!

Hehe - MrT - strap on the steel-toe's and beat the hell outta them wheels. They will eventually come off. Sometimes it helps to beat on the inside, too.

And HOOLIGAN:: Can you give us some more info as to how you painted these so nicely? They look great, but I don't know if I'd have the steady hand to use a brush - is that what you did?

Any info would be great.

Good to see you here Hiho!! I'll bend my rims to get them off. Is that covered under warranty :D I guess you too noticed the flow of people coming here. Some call it a refugee camp, but I have seen you here before as I have been here as well before Protegeclub went down. Anywayz, glad to hear from you! ;)

Yah man - I've been registered here almost the same amount of time as the now-defunct P-club.

I posted here from time to time in the past, but was far more active on the other forum. No idea why - they are both good sites - I just preferred the other one for some unknown reason.

Oh well - I suppose this refugee camp can suffice for now. J/K all - I like it here just fine.

I actually never fully understood the reasoning behind the two clubs. A merger is not a bad thing - though I do think the forum topics/categtories could use a re-working. Especially if this site is going to try to cater to the older gens also.

We'll see what the potential future of p-club is (if any) before I consider making site suggestions......

Oh well - can a brother at least get a hot meal at this here refugee camp? ;)

You ever get the wheels off, T?

We are waiting on GotWake aka Blue to supply us with MRE's (Meals ready to eat) since he is in the army. Not as good as the steak and potatoes over at Protegeclub, but you have to do what you have to do to survive! (drinks)

Well...I gotta fess up.

I actually got the idea off of some guys wheels on the ProtegeClub board. :p

BUT...he did his red on his yellow P5. I went with the more sedate metalic black.

Anywho....the way I did it was using masking tape and a sharp razor blade. Put the tape over the chrome Mazda emblum and once the strips of tape where put over the mazda part I cut off the excess so only the chrome part was covered by the masking tape. Very tedious. But...worth it. I used just regualr old Krylon to paint them. Took them off the wheel as well. Hopefully the paint will hold up. :)
