that and i find once they start going they are less efficient at the larger rust/paint removal. So i tend to keep the well used ones for the cleaning of bolts more so then rust removal/paint removal. Nothing nicer then clean bolts/threads when rebuilding cars.

I do hate dirty threads.

Lots of work has been accomplished since Saturday that most people will never even notice..

vacuum lines have all been run.
gauges wired.
sensors installed.
cleaned up the over spray under the car and greased all the bushings.

inlet is finished ready to be cleaned up for coating.
outlet is finished waiting to be coated.
final welding on my seat brackets is done so those can be installed.

wiring under the hood is done except for the SC switch(trying to decide what/where)

Coldside is finally installed just need a couple Tbolt clamps to finish it.

Congrats, you're done with the hard/annoying stuff. I like the black fmic and catch cans standing out. You swapping the valve cover once it's finished?

thanks,
ya VC is the last thing im changing and still deciding which one i want to use(i have 3). still have the hoses fittings to run so not sure if the catch cans will stay where they are or i might change those around. Just wish my Rad and fittings would get here so i can mock up the front of the car, and finish the last of the welding..

nope wasent home. was going to sent cash today but glad i didnt cuz it was sold and I didnt know lol. no worries ill pick one up eventually

That's right, between the polished and the Signature gold. I like the current location of the catch cans from what I see above. If you install the Signature gold VC, you may need to relocate them just for symmetry

well i have a polished one, the "gold" one and one I'm having done locally in a nice glossy deep black. Its more of a test because i wanted black IC piping to match the rest of the black in the bay.. and i have spare covers to get done so i can see the color better.

My votes on black. I did my exhaust manifold cover low-gloss black and I was very happy with the finish. Not matte, not super glossy, a nice eggshell if you will

well my trans, intake manifold, all the brackets and IC were all done in low gloss satin, so we will see. I wanted black so things would hide better and not be as noticeable, im not a fan of flashy i like the OEM improved look..

i think my next few mods other than painting interior trim like i did on the shifter trim is going to be get the valve cover done and a coolant tank and a real intake. think thats what m car needs to look okay. bay looks trashy :/

Agreed, I'm ultimately going for a clean look. Nothing tacky, not too many colors or stickers/logos. I painted my VC red to match the sway bar and the 5 on the Protege'5 logo. I painted the calipers next. I have the red accent but I don't want to go heavy with it and have a Spiderman car. Instead of chrome, I would like to switch accents such as the wheels to gunmetal since I think it pairs well with the dark blue.

The only issue I think you would have with a black VC is it not being pronounced enough. It's definitely the center piece of the engine and you don't want it to blend in with the rest of the bay

see the center piece is true, that's why i left the supercharger polished.. sure teh bright flashy VC is nice, but the center piece of my bay is everything not the parts i sent away to get coated. the wires are hidden, the Intake manifold is shaved, the vac lines are tucked away. everything has its place and was put there for a purpose. Im worried the bright VC will draw attention to it and all the details will be missed..

but like i said i have many to try and see which one i like better.

Maybe polished then. You want some attention but not too much or too little. The black will fade away with the trans and so on (unless it has polished logos), the gold is too bright and will attract too much attention. Polished will match with the SC but not steal the show
