So I was watching a Youtube review on the 2014 CX-5 (by Autobytel), and the dude reviewing the car had the typical "the NAV is too small" complaint, but then added that "word on the street" is that a bigger screen system is coming down the road.

Anyone else heard that?

I dont find it to small at all. Guess everyone has there opinion. What I would like is what the Rogue has, when in radio mode it does a spilt screen with the nav so you still see the map.

It is small for the amount of features it includes. The system already feels old because of its poor graphics and (extremely) sluggish response.

Good thing the system is completely modular. Mazda's entire line shares the same unit, minus the Miata and 2. So yes, a new system is definitely in the works by Mazda due to poor consumer and automotive reviews.

But probably not before the 2015 model I would assume...
I'm looking to buy before the end of the summer, but I'm sure it'll still be the current NAV model. Would be nice to buy the bigger NAV and simply plug and play if no serious dashboards modification need to be made, but the cost of buying that will likely be hurtful to my wallet. We all know how sensitive my wallet can be...

Hence the reason I financed my CX-5 instead of buying it all out. Knowing it is a Series 1 (SkyActiv) with some issues that may need to be ironed out and potential upgrade to the SkyActiv-D when it is finally released in the U.S. later this year. Trade in and don't lose much if anything, and continue finance.

Maybe the diesel will come with the bigger screen! Problem solved!
