Big #s ! what engine management is to be used ?

I wanna know what engine management is to be used to put out around 400whp. remember $ might be an issue( for a college kid). Im thinking about trying to make 300whp in my car and spraying nitrous to get the rest of the power. What do u guys think and what will be needed (as in management)?

I hope you already have a turbo on ur car if money is an issue to get 300whp..cause even WITH a turbo, thats a task in a protege...but hey, I guess if you stole the parts...lol

although it will be expensive it gives you so many options as for tuning, and ease of use verses other systems.

if you really want to go cheap (relative tem) then read up on the MPI tuner. it has been proven on a 360ish or so WHP protege, but I cant say for sure. either way if you are looking for 400+hp then you will need to spend a lot of money regardless
 
i want to go with ems but im broke. ill probably end up with emanage or mpi. and then spray
 
I suggest going w/ the mpi tuner. It's very functional...Especially when used in conjunction with a J&S Safeguard to detect knock.

I have been runnin mpi tuner for over 1 year..and still pushing 10-12psi. w/ nitrous.

Big #'s and "im broke" usually = "Big Broken Dreams"

If you dont plan on tuning/installing it yourself, its probably best to find what your trusted local tuner prefers to use, as they will know the ins and outs of the software and the unit.
 
im not broke im just trying to find what ppl use as in the least expencive way@
 
You want real big WHP. Go with Haltech. Our P5 is putting out 330 WHP and look what my RSX is doing. The fastest and most powerful RSX powered by a Haltech E6X.

Yes, I am using a GT35R and the dyno run was made at 28 psi of boost. The first run was 11.6 with full interior at 130 MPH but at 22 psi. The car would spin the tires even in 4th gear at 28 psi.
 
the way for that much power is standalone:

haltech
microtech
electromotive
wolf
aem

more important, you need a good tunner.

Haltech is very very expencive. + my buddys car took 2day just to get to idle. i wish i could go with that but i cant

are you forged? if not, that would be the first step to make that kind of power. the stock fs-de rods are only good up to about 240whp before they start to give.
