2008.5 White crystal MICA Mazdaspeed 3
Well spent last weekend getting everything hooked up. (Check out About to start a Big Project if interested). Anyways, I got everything into the Speed and back together only to have some problems. First the Infinity 5x7 are WAY overrated. Blew them, with gains down, using my four channel Fosgate that was supposed to only push 50 watts(p400-4). Next, I realize that one of the p1000-1bd amps is shutting on and off. All four amps were running off a distribution blocked 4gauge wire and all remotes are daisy chained. Checked all connections and everything is fine. No clipping light, no overheating, and no resetting. It just cuts off and does not come back on until the ignition is reset.

Now, I have called both companies and they both have agreed to fix the problem. One will send a new amp and the other will trade the Infinity for some new Fosgate 6x8s, so all is good. New problem arises...the box is NOT divided, so I now must build a box that is separated. It is hard enough to set two amps..but when the subs share the same airspace...ARGG!

The two 2 ohm Pioneer Premier TS-W3002D2 3000 watt sound great, but because they are 2 ohm and right now on one amp that is all they are getting. The p1000-1bd runs at 2 ohms = 500 watts. I am not even touching them right now. The clarity using the Cleansweep is AMAZING! I mean...Wow!

Now some untold truths: I purchased everything at a discount. Every amp is a refurbished off EBAY(all four). I believe I paid $299 for each 1000 watt amp, $149 for the P400-4, and $79 for the P200-2. The CSS1 Summing device was used (50 bucks). The CL441DP Cleansweep was $149. The subs ran $290 shipped, and the p2 8inch sub was like $40. All in all quite a bargain for the setup I have.

The reason I am telling this is simple. For those of you who are debating saving the cash and purchasing the refurbished amps, I believe it is worth it. I mean everything has worked except one p1000-1bd. The company is replacing it (I hope). The shipping on th Infinity 5x7 and the amp was $28 with confirmation of delivery.

PS For those who DO NOT like stereo...Great for you...,but I love it so let it go. Get out of the audio section if you don't like stereo.

Another thing is that many of you were right about the setting. It is a pain in th butt trying to get everything set correctly. Here is what I have done so far:
1. ran the tweets inline with the 5x7 and it made one heckava difference. They are now screaming. They are almost ear piercing.
2. Unhooked all RCAs except the p400-4 fronts and played with that until I hit as hard as I could without bottoming out the speakers at all.
3. Then I included the rear doors and blew them LOL! (Did I mention Infinity SUCKS! IMHO)
4. Then I set the p200-2 on High Pass and got the 8inch Mid (stealthbox) to fall just under a low DB hit (sorry I do not understand the freqency I just adjust till it sounds right)
5. Then I unplugged everything and plugged the RCAs to the subs back on LP. I played around until the desired sound was accomplished.
6. Then hooked everything back up.

On the Cleansweep there is a Master control for volume and I drilled and mounted it underneath the ebrake (it does not even get in the way). It turned out to be a great place because of the natural position of my driving.

I just ordered the new BASS control knob that controls 3 amps with one plug. When it comes in, I have decided to mount it on the left side pocket just under the light adjustment switches (little change pocket I believe). I hope that this will allow me to turn the bass down because right now it is pounding too much at low volumes. It is tiring to have to adjust the gains at the amp everytime and for every type of music.

cool, i thought about putting the bass control there as well, but i decided it wasn't comfortable enough there. i placed mine in between the cup holders in the center. i can still put two cup in there when needed.
