A throttle body won't give you any gain in HP anyway. If anything, you'll lose some low-end torque.

Kinda strange to hear that there are no gains to be had by a BTB. I installed one on my 02 Saturn when I had it, and I got something out of it. It wasn't a gain like you'd get from your standard bolt-on, like an intake or exhaust, but it was certainly noticeable in the higher gears (higher speeds). My mph in the quarter went up a couple mph, so I would imagine it gives you a few peak horsepower at the expense of a few ft-lbs. Maybe similar to the effect you get by switching from a street exhaust (smaller dia for midrange) to a race exhaust (larger dia for peak)?

I can't imagine its much different with Protege's - although that's not always a true statement...

there is definately a gain but dont go too big a throttle body unless you turbo cause then you will lose something that was there...
