Hi,I'm new to your forum and thanks for the great how to sections they are great.

My question is this I have an 08 MS3 cobb ap,su rear engine mount, ghl full exhaust, turbo smart BOV,cobb shifter you now the usual stuff,Upon hard starts from 1st to 2nd shift there is an extremly hard metalic bang I tried it twice with the same result it is kind of scary.Does anyone have any suddgestions or had have the same problems?
Thanks and I will be waiting for your responces

yea just check the bolts on the motor mount, if any of them are loose it could make that sound....are you tightening the bolt by hand?

maybe if u jack the engine up to relieve some weight from the mount u can tighten the bolts easier......

but i have a p5, im not sure if that would work on the MS3

I autox this weekend, and something similar happened to me after some aggresive 1-2 shifting. Heard the loud clank too! I have the TRZ MM and shifter bushings. Should I take off the bushings and take it to the dealership? Its under warranty!

Hahaha, thats exactly what I thought when I heard it. It happened right at the beginning of the course, so i just coasted until the end. I immediately went under the car expecting to see some mangled parts.

The car has been fine ever since, havent heard that bang again.

I've had this happen twice, both times from 1 to 2 on bumpy starts/uneven concrete. It scared the s*** out of me, thought I broke something. I thought I had remembered someone saying the LSD does this with wheel hop, but maybe I am wrong. Regardless, no problems. Basically I did a hard acceleration, shifted 1 to 2 and chirped the tires pretty good in 2nd and all of a sudden got excessive wheelspin and BANG. Car shut down power (did not turn off or anything) for 1-2 seconds, then was fine.
