Beware Ebay?

Heya, all.

I have an '02 P5 and recently discovered after paying off my credit card diligently that I have a couple bucks to spend. So I already bought(I probably should have come here first), an Injen CAI that apparently has all the stock sensor holes and everything. I also grabbed some nicer tail lights and a few xenon bulbs. However, after doing this I read a couple of threads saying CAI is a waste of money for me...dang. What I want to know is whats the deal then with all the other brands I see on Ebay for things like Lowering Springs and CatBack Exhaust systems like Sprint and Megan. I'm know pro when it comes to car modding; in fact I am pretty much a noob to this, so how can I get just a little mosre punch out of my P5 without losing a testicle in the process? I also don't want to sound like one of those nerdy little 1990's civics that sound like they have tin cans for mufflers. Help!! what do I do?

thats cool, except they tell me at Lordco here in Canada it'll be around $400 CAD for just the unit, no install.

Basically, should I trust that maybe if I bought a catback from an ebay store, it might do alright? I've never seen most of the brands on ebay before; but then again I'm new to modding.

buy a racing beat cat back system, seems to be one of the most popular cat backs on this forum, sounds good, but not too ricey, and you didnt do wrong with the intake, it wont give our protege's much power, but it will help out. if your planning on a super fast car, save up and buy a turbo. our cars are more made for corners, not strait speed.

Yeah, after a year of owning this car and having two kids and a wife, I know this car gets me around corners really fast just as stock. Don't know how many times I've disappeared into the backroads around my home town for a hour of heart pumping anger dissipating driving. Racing Beat, you say though eh? I'll check that out too.

i got megan springs and i love them. just a heads up though, if you do get them, you will want to get new struts. the spring rates are rather high (280 F, 230 R) and will destroy your stock struts in no time. plus, you wont get the full benefits from them because the stock struts are pretty soft.

my friend has a megan exhaust on his p5. i really like it, but matched with headers, its a little too noisy. he also took the silencer out. if you get the megan exhaust, buy it from protege garage. free shipping ftw.

good luck with the modding

u did well on the injen, best bit of kit ive bought in a long time. sound sweet and nice gains as well. defo get the racing beat as well. quiet yet again decent gains are seen. personally i dont think turbos the route, although alot of guys on here rave about it. weve seen up wards of 30+bhp from bolt on mods over here in the uk.

we have thermal exhaust systems on clearance through our ebay store

+1 for thermal. Although, maybe I should stop telling people how good of an exhaust it is because i'm greedy and want to be the only one whose got it. (sssh)
