Better milage mods anyone ???

I drive like a maniac and I consistantly get high 28-32mpg. I got 37mpg on my last trip to Atlanta.

also.. if your a/c compressor kicks in, it'll suck up more gas.. so turn your air vents to either in your face or face/feet.. the other 3 would turn the a/c to get rid of the moisture on the insides of your windows :)

A clean/new air filter makes a huge difference if it's been a long time since you did that.

man i'm getting 200 miles from full till the light comes one... thats like 16 MPG stupid turbo.

LOL, did ya read my earlier post. I averaged 28 with a turbo 2.3L pinto motor! That car was dynod at 175hp and 243ft/lbs at 15 psi with no iC and the ECU pulling all kinds of timing. These FS-DE's suck!

hey just be thankful we dont have a cheap suzuki or a crappy korean car. the new suzukis get low 20's for mileage and the have less power than our fs-de. its funny how car makers dont give a s*** about good mileage. all they go for is making a car that gets "decent" mileage. its the same with trucks. companies could make them get beeter mileage but they dont because the goverenment doesnt mandate that they get good mileage. heres an oxymoron/hypocrytical situation. the porsche gt3 gets 15/23 mpg and gets charged with a gas guzzler tax but a vehicle like a ford f-150 that gets 14/18 does not............how ****** up is that.....not to mention trucks that get worse mileage than that and still dont get hit with the tax. our government doesnt give a s*** about the environment or our wallets.

Yeah, really. And the thing I REALLY don't understand is the ULEV crap! WTF ultra low emissions, but the MPG sucks? That seems like an oxymoron. My wifes 94 civic gets 38-48mpg, which is damn close to what a hybrid gets!

yeah, the current hybrids are a joke... someone I work with has the honda hybrid (one of the civic types) and he drives like a granny. he has told me that it doesn't get good enough mileage to offset the cost over its entire life vs. the regular civic.

yeah, i spin around 3250 at 70 MPH which is around 3700 at 79 MPH with my summer wheels. Believe it is a little lower with my snows on........the engine like running at those RPM's and keeps you from down shifting when you have to speed up....!

Stick or auto??

My auto spins at 3050 at 70mph and at 3500 at 80.

What about those of us that can't drive 65, if you drive 65 on the interstates here you get run over :P

70 min 75-85 is the average speeds with cops doing about 90 and pulling over for 85+

Yeah, traffic here is typically up to 80. But I have kids to feed and can't spend all my money on gas. I often set the cruise on 65 and just stay towards the right. Tailgaters get f**ked with.

It's really interesting seeing all the varying mileages everyone gets out of their P5. I know that I usually get about 27mpg. I can drive like a maniac, drive really slow, accelerate fast, slow... whatever. I still get around 27mpg. I was a bit disappointed at first, but I guess I've dealt with that.

It is sucky that a small 4 cylinder engine gets under 30 mpg considering that my bro-in-law got about the same gas mileage out of the 4WD impreza he used to have.

Oh well... at least I know I've got a car that shouldn't fall apart after 5 years of driving.

yeah, just filled my car after this week and i went 121 miles on 6.5 gallons (18.6MPG ouch). The worst in a very long time. Guess it was all city driving and i let my car run long periods in the mornings. Screwed around in the snow for a short time period, but this is low. I will take it easy this week.......

....i did squeeze a lot in after the pump kicked off; more than normal so the milage was probably a little higher but still is lower than my normal driving.

I just got 320 miles from 12 gallons in an 02 p5 (my first tank)
It had mixed driving (puttin around town and 100mph on the interstate)
26mpg I honestly think thats decent for a sport wagon even with the low hp/tq ratings. I use to have a Honda Civic DX Hatch that got around 34-38mpg it was a stick 1.5l . for a 12 year old car getting 35mpg was great to me!!

(cryhard) I guess there are not real mods for our car. Everybody goes with the flow feeding the pumps. (Somebody is making killing).I guess this is the reason why manufactures do not respect us. Forget the government.
