Best way to remove scratch?

I just got a 2007 Mazda 3 touring 5 door in galaxy gray and I love it! Crappy thing, I am washing my car yesterday and notice a footlong horizontal scratch on left rear door! What would be the best way to go about removing this scratch? Thanks in advance..Mike

A compound with mild or light abrasive might work. Just have to be careful and it also depends on how deep.

Can you feel it when you run your thumb nail across it? If you can, some high speed buffing my reduce the apperance of it, but it will never completely go away.

If you cannot feel it with your finger nail, then there's a good chance you can high speed buff the scratch out. If you don't have experience doing this yourself, take it to a detailer and pay the 50.00 or so bucks for an exterior detail, it'll be waxed in the process.

you can also try "scratch doctor", you can buy it at like target or wherever and it workes pretty well, but you'd maybe need to apply it every year- 2 years I think it says, but I've had no problems with it. Of course my scratches aren't that deep.
