Hi, what's the best way to clean the multimedia/Satnav touch screen? It picks up lots of fingerprints. Now I know why the BMW-style rotary dial makes sense!

microfiber glasses cleaning cloth?

should I stay away from using water and household window cleaning solutions?

Thanks!

Definitely not household glass cleaners, which often contain ammonia-- which not only could damage the screen, but is hard on the plastic surround and any nearby dash parts (which is why you also shouldn't use household glass cleaners on your car's glass).

Oh really? There are specific auto glass cleaners/solutions available I guess?

Sure, just Google "auto glass cleaner." I use Stoner Invisible Glass and DP Krystal Glass Cleaner but there are plenty of options to choose from. As far the touch screen goes, a good quality auto glass cleaner (like the aforementioned DP) plus a microfiber towel (no lint, no scratching) will do the trick. Don't spray the cleaner directly on the screen, put a little on the towel, wipe, then buff with a dry towel.

I simply clean mine using an anti static lint free cloth cloth like those used to clean CDs. I don't use any liquids at all.

Stoners INVISABLE Glass cleaner is my favorite.Spray some on a soft cloth and wipe lightly. I don't spray it directly on the screen. Walmart for ~ $6 Ed

+1

If you have a particularly heavy build up of french fry grease on there, use a BARELY dampened (with plain water) micro fiber towel followed by a dry micro fiber tower. Save your money and don't waste it on a "specialized" screen cleaner.
