ok lookin for new shocks for 07 ms3. rears are bad. not lookin drop ton of cash so basically oem replacement. mazdaspeeds, kybs, monroes??? i want bilstiens but outta my pocket range
I just bought a set of Koni FSDs for my 07 MS3. I have 25,000 miles on the odometer and the passenger left front was leaking. I got a good price of $500 bucks shipped on the 4040s. Please note that the 4045s are 20% stiffer and the Koni catalog has been revised to reflect this. Most people have a November arrival date on the 4045s as they are on back order. I could'nt wait that long with a leaky strut.
I also ordered a set of bump stops from FCM, (Fat Cat Motorsports), $87 bucks for front, $132 for both front/rear. You will need at least the fronts as most of the front bump stops are extremely worn on our cars. My rears were fine but I installed the new bump stops with the spacers anyway.
The FSDs are great OEM replacement shocks with the original springs.
If you are planning on getting lowering/performance springs now or in the future, then the Koni Sport, (Yellows) are recommended. They are adjustable but may offer a harsher ride for our cars. The fronts have a knob/dial for adjustment. The rears have to removed and re-installed for each adjustment, (a hassle, unless you track it regularly).
My overall ride is improved. Turn-in is very crisp, choppy asphalt is much smoother now, high speed freeway lane changes are more stable. I will track the car at Sears Point next month and post back.
Overall worth the money for me!
