best fmic?

Personally I think the core of the corksport kit is too large for our car. Cp-e and Cobb both make really nice kits, and if your running a sport model without the HIDs the Exhaust Depot kit is good as well. In the end it comes down to finding something in your price range, if you can't pick up a used one anywhere, the corksport might be cheaper new, dont remember exact prices.

For the best bang for the buck you may want to check out protegegarage.com for their intercooler piping kit and grab a core off eBay or another site. You'll have a fmic for under 400$. Or pick up their entire kit for 650ish I believe.

If you want to wait, Cobb says they are going to be putting their FMIC back in production in a few months... it was a very vague answer from one of teh Cobb techs but i guess that means some time in the summer.

There are many good ones... I believe TurboXS and CS have rather large cores that aren't ideal for the stock K04.
The CP-e and Cobb kits honestly probably have the best quality and fit. The PG kit is the absolute best bang for the buck (comparing new prices that is).

Cobb FMIC is the way to go, If your looking for a new one Cobb surgline has a few in stock

Dude, the CP-e sits crooked as s***. It's offset like an inch and a half to two inches to the passenger side. Looks like crap IMHO. It works fine, but the fit is questionable at best.

we've got more pipe kits and full kits being produced for next month. all intakes and valves (except maybe the synapse) will fit with ours. i'm going to be adding some better bracketry and small parts with the kits as well.

The Cobb is the best looking fmic ive seen for this car. Fit is perfect and its a very solid setup. Cobb discontiued it so theres only a few floating around,Surgeline tuning in Portland did infact still have them, And to hear that Cobb will start producing them again is very good. From pictures that I have seen my 2nd choice would be the kit from ProtegeGarage. And for the price is very very nice :) Goodluck.

so why exactly is the Turboxs FMIC not good for your stock turbo?

too much surface?

I kinda like the fact that the core fills the entire opening.

I have to say, I spend the $700 on the protege garage kit, and am thrilled with it. Even got 27 MPG average with it recently, 1st time over 25 mpg since I bough the thing.

Yeah, the core is too big for the stock turbo and boost levels. You will get a bit of lag.
