Best brand of motor mounts for a daily dirver (vibration free)?

Hi,

I'm getting an engine swap done on my 2003 Protege5, manual transmission. (Serious oil burning issues on the old engine)
I figure this is a good time to get the motor mounts changed while I'm at it.
I'm hoping to prevent drivetrain lash.
But I've got 2 young kids and a wife, so I don't want their teeth to rattle off with a really stiff mount.
I'm looking to get something like stock motor mounts, but Mazda ones cost a fortune (at least here in Canada)

Any suggestions?
Leslie

AWR makes inserts to go into the stock mounts. They range in duro rating for how stiff they are. I don't remember off the top of my head but 80 duro or 88 duro would be about what you want. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

AWR makes 70, 88, and 95 durometer rated engine mounts for the Protege. I couldn't tell you what the stock one is but I will say for the least amount of vibration you'll want the 70 duro if you go AWR route. You'll feel more vibration regardless of the mount because the aftermarket one is urethane and not rubber and doesn't have the holes in the mounts like the stock do. Which is better since some of the torque is used to twist the engine in it's mounts, rather than going through the driveline to the wheels when using stock rubber (softer) motor mounts. Hope this helps.

let me tell you, if you are AT ALL worried about vibrations, stick with stock-ish motor mounts.

I purchased the full street unit billet aluminum with poly urethane inserts and love them.
