How the hell did you go both days!?!?! I walked around and looked at everything in about 40 minutes. Then I walked around and started sitting in the things I liked and looked at more stuff that looked interesting. I could barely make 2 hours out of the whole thing. I was so pissed off...it seemed like ford/lincoln/merc, GM, and Dodge had 1/2 of the whole damn place to themselves. Honda and acura had 1/16, bmw and MB had 1/16 and the other 1/8 went to everybody else. Ford had nothing interesting...no future cars or anything. Neither did GM except for the GTo which just looked blah. I sat in the Vette though...*shudder* what a beutiful car. Dodge actually brought one of their future models, but were guarding it like hawks. Mazda had 3 cars, and that's what pissed me off the most. They had the rx-8, the tribute and the 3. For those worried about the 3 replaceing the protege...don't. It's a perfect replacement. It still feels like the protege inside. But neither of the salesmen was pushing it. they were dummies! One just stood there, and the other was pushing the RX-8 like a robot. "No...no flaws what soever. The old ones used to need a turbo to be this fast...but not anymore." Ugh...I wanted to slap him senseless. And what got me even more riled, was that Kia had more cars there than Mazda. UGH. At least I sat in the EVO, STi, and SRT-4 (among others...but these what what I didn't bother trying before I bought my MSP). The EVO I liked, but it didn't feel "just right") The SRT felt all wrong...like the seats were too small. And with the amount of driving that I've put in w/ the MSP that would have been bad. The STi felt great, though. I love the way everything fit. If I had had the money, it would have been my car. But as soon as I walked out of the show and sat in my MSP it felt like I was home again. *sigh* I just hope I don't lose it because of this crappy unemployment.

Anywho...sorry for the long post. Just though that I'd give my impression of the show. It was ok...and probably worth 8 bucks. It's just that I was expecting more.

Man I spent a ton more time there. I sat in a bunch of cars and really looked at them. I toughed every dial and button.

The GTO was blah, nothing too cool at all. That new SSR was neat. The Audi Rs6 was SICK! Sti was nice, evo was nice, the SRT was complete JUNK! The interior IS that bad, holy s***! Volvo had the sweet R, which was cool. The H2 was junk. The mustang with the 305 and shaker hood was JUNK! wow, nice plastic seats....lol. The Mazda 3 was NOT impressive at all IMO.

The thing about the 3 was that is was supposed to be like an ES. It was probably that equivalent, easily. Was it a match to the MSP, no...but it fits just like the protege. Just the way it fit around me felt like the protege. It's not comparable to the A4 that was sitting next to it...it's also not going to cost anywhere near that much. I can't say enough how much I liked the STi and the A4. Even the Mini felt really comfortable. I wish the price would drop on the Minis, though...

I liked the Scions as well. I was impressed that they were offering power pakages with rims and Falkens. The honda accord coupe that they had with the gun metal rims looked awesome. I like the element, too...if I needed an SUV today, that'd be my pick!

Yea that accord was sweet, I forgot to mention that, v6, stick, wheels, very nice. The Mini was a waste of money, especially the Italian job one...LOL 30k for that thing? Dude a new s2000 is 33k....whatever. Did you see the hood stickers on it? Nice bubbles.

I didn't like the 3's front fenders, too much metal from the tire to the hood.

Hey Dan you never called me, or else I would of joined you at Hooters at 8. I was out all day catching the game and stuff. IF you guys want to see a real auto show, come to Detroit for the NAIAS, seen that the past 3 years, a perk to going to a fine University there!! But anywa, I don't like scion styling at all either the xA nor the xB, but I want to see the xC(or whatever they're going to name taht thing) it's suppose to be a "performance" car. And at NAIAS you see concepts like everywhere. And oh yea Mini was on my shopping list, but at home it was like a 6 month waiting list to get them and I have to get them out of state, so that went out the window. But sounds like you guys had fun there.

should of lets us mass guys in on this earlier!! would have been a much better turn out! :) hey, what ever happened to getting together again in early dec.? up for ct. or ri??? later

I'd still be interested in a Rt 2 drive before x-mas. where's that thread?
