Hey everyone, I mentioned this up in Limerock, but I have things rolling finally with NORA and my slow lazy butt.. anyways..
Saturday July 19 will be an autox to benefit UMDF: United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. (click here for a description and a link to UMDF's website)
A short tid-bit to why I'm involved and what's going on... My aunt passed away on my 16th birthday from this disease, it slowly eats away at your cells, basically destroying your muscles and organs. Anyway, there are plenty of benefits going on year round, but I'd like to have my own that's a bit more personal and want to get some friends to join along.
Details:
When: Saturday July 19: Noon - ...whenever we finish
Cost: $30 for EVERYONE (NORA/ASCC member or nonmember)
Where: Eastlake parking lot by Captain's Stadium
The event will be up on axtime shortly, we're still getting the details finished up. Other than covering the cost of the insurance and using the lot .. I would like to make sure we make that and get close to $500-$1000 raised for the foundation.. yeah it may be a stretch but who cares, it's worth it. In order to get that, we need roughly 50-60 people out there. If you can't make it and are willing to donate, you can paypal me at mbiddle@sherwin.com
If nothing else, come out and watch, take pictures... I'm going to see if anyone is willing to donate some time to do a concession stand as well as donating to the booth (of course I will help out with it).
This will be a meet/autox/benefit and for FUN, no need to take this too seriously, but I REALLY appreciate all the help I can get and support
